Paramount will release its reboot of "The Terminator" June 26, 2015, the studio announced on Thursday.
The film is planned as the first in a new trilogy stemming from the original series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular cyborg.
Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier are writing the screenplay. No directors or cast have signed on yet.
Siblings Megan Ellison (Annapurna Pictures) and David Ellison (Skydance Productions) are co-financing and producing the movie with Paramount, which will distribute the film.
Summer 2015 is already filling up with major titles, though thus far studios have left May alone given the May 1 bow of "The Avengers 2."
"The Terminator" will open a week after Pixar's "Inside Out" and Fox and Ubisoft's adaptation of video game, "Assassin's Creed," and a week before a new animation from "Despicable Me" producer Illumination and "Independence Day 2."
