OPENINGS AND CLOSINGS IN LAS VEGAS.
by Bill Mandel, Publisher.

July 1, 2013…..LAS VEGAS…....

CLOSED IN THE LAST MONTH:
=========================

CAESARS: World Series of Poker player, David Diaz, has been banned for one year from the World Series of Poker along with all Caesars properties for being drunk and causing a disturbance at Harrah's Carnaval Court. The ban stretches to all other Caesar’s properties and means that the American will be forced to miss the upcoming Main Event of the World Series of Poker.

CIRCUS CIRCUS: Closed The Chuck Jones Experience.

FASHION SHOW MALL: The Ann Taylor Lost ladies wear store closed.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE: Issued an excessive heat
warning for Las Vegas last weekend. Temperatures went to a high of 117 degrees.

NEVADA GAMING CONTROL BOARD: Has issued a Directive that prohibits the wearing of "Google Glass" on any casino floor.
They define "Google Glass" as essentially a light-weight, wearable computer, designed to be attached to eye glass frames, to have the ability to display information, take pictures, record video transmit and receive data via the internet.

SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES : Thanks to big-money investors as well as a shortage of supply, the median price for a single-family home in Vegas is up 32.8% from a year ago, according to the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.

TERRIBLE'S CASINO: Slowly converting to their new name of Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino. They are located at Flamingo East and Paradise. Official unveiling of the new name is July 7.

UNION DISPUTES: Union contracts covering 44,000 hospitality workers in Las Vegas have expired June 1st. This includes the majority of workers on the Las Vegas Strip.
If new contracts are not settled, there is the potential for labor disputes, even strikes affecting kitchen, housekeeping and valet services.

Most casinos have signed contract extensions with the Culinary Union as both groups work to negotiate a new labor deal.

Culinary Workers Union Local 226 said they have been in contract negotiations with The Cosmopolitan for more than two years.
The union said its last major contract with most properties along The Strip expired on June 1. Many of those properties have signed an extension of the deal for the time being. However, the Union said four properties
downtown had not signed the extension: El Cortez, Binion's, The Plaza and Las Vegas Club.

Shopping Center.

the world by Tripadvisor readers.

DINNER IN THE SKY LAS VEGAS: Construction has started
on "Dinner in the Sky" which suspends thrill-seeking foodies,
strapped to their chairs by six-point harnesses for safety, will spend about an hour on the elevated platform, almost 200 feet off the ground, where they will eat a gourmet three-course meal surrounded by a panoramic view of The Strip. The project is expected to open this summer on a plot of land near West
Tropicana and Polaris avenues. Dinners will start at $290 a person.
GOLDEN NUGGET: Releases odds on 250 college football games at:

HOME PRICES: From the latest information available, median price of a home sold in Las Vegas rose in May to $170,000. That represents an increase of 1.8 percent from April, and an increase of 32.8 percent from April, 2012.

LAKE LAS VEGAS:
1.Home prices are slowly rising. Single-family houses at Lake Las Vegas sold for an average $675,446 during the first quarter of this year, up from about $484,000 last year, according to Windermere Real Estate, who is active in the area. However, the Westin Lake Las Vegas is reporting that their occupancy has jumped from a dismal 35 percent to about 50 percent but still remains well below the regional average of 88 percent.

Mr.Wynn could just not get over the child molestation accusations that were brought against Michael Jackson.
I was a big fan of Michael Jackson until I saw Michael Jackson, on TV, say that it was O.K. for young boys to be in bed with him. I hope the show
