Bought a commuter car last night

So we negotiate a bit and I think I got a good final price but I say to him "the deal is done if you do one thing for me." I told him I'd like the gas tank filled as it was on empty. He says, "I think we can do that."

I sign all the paperwork and get the keys and he says "hey, I'm really sorry but I only filled it up halfway. Our company policy does not allow us to fill the tanks up."

What a douche. What is $30 when you're talking about buying a car for between 15-20K?

That's okay when you get the survey in the mail, check all boxes you're not satisfied and think the product is 2nd class and every body from the manufacturer to the dealership will be calling you to jump thru hoops to resolve the issue.

I did this years ago to Ford Motor Company. It got the sales manager and salesman both fired, this is not what I was wanting to happen but they did not follow through with what they said they would do. In the end Ford Motor Company and the dealership made it right.

2013 VW Passat with 13K miles. Got it for 17.5K which I thought was a good deal.

Just think you are a clown who ditches a 23 year old friendship over something stupid. I would never do that to a friend of 23 years. I've had friends do all kinds of stupid shit. And i have done all kinds of stupid shit to my friends. One of us apologizes and we move on. That's how life goes but it seems in your mind you a perfect. Other than that I have no problem with you.
