My mother in law. Every morning she wakes up at 5 and rolls 10-20 flour tortillas for the day from lard and flour. She then puts on a couple cups of beans that were soaking over night. Makes delicious mole, chile, enchiladas, menudo/posole, tamales. Has a garden every year with the best strawberries, raspberries, melons, onions, garlic, radishes, carrots, peppers, tomatoes and corn. She tends it, picks it and jars/pickles various jams and salsas/sauces for over the winter. The woman has talent. Decades of working the fields and helping her mother and grandmother with the house duties. My wife is good too, but she doesn't have time for all of it or close to as much practice.

Habanero's in Austin has always been a favorite when I've passed through there to visit my sister. The week I stayed in Rosarita, Mexico was by far the best food I've ever had.

the best place I ate while in Mexico DF was "La Casa del Taco". Super affordable, crazy sizes, crazy flavours, mariachis playing... neat and fast service. I love Mexico in general, but I must say, the food is one of the best reasons.
