After this weeks Fourth Of July celebrations across our great nation, the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies square off Sunday afternoon for the rubber game of this series in Philadelphia the City Of Brotherly Love but don't expect much if any good will between these old National league East Rivals. Atlanta scored a season high 13 Runs last night with Dan Uggla and Jason Heyward providing big HR's as the Braves took game two and Tim Hudson's 10 game winless streak finally game to an end. Atlanta starter Medlen is 6-7 3.11 ERA overall on the season but 5-1 2.50 ERa in last six starts. Medlen has allowed at least three runs in his last three starts however and is 1-1 3.94 in three starts vs. Philadelphia. Medlen has also struggled with run support issues at times this season and will look for the Atlanta offense to to continue to pepper hits around Citizens Bank Park this afternoon. Medlen has had some throwing errors in pick off moves recently and must not give Philadelphia any base running advantages this afternoon. Pettibone is 4-3 3.99 ERA overall on the season but is 1-0 2.55 ERA in last three starts. Pettibone has never faced Atlanta and will look to to avoiding giving up any HR's to an Atlanta offense that looks to carry that scoring momentum from last in today's game. Ryan Howard now on the DL for inflammation of the left knee for Philadelphia which will miss Howard's RBI's contribution. Domonic Brown now a 2013 National League All Star Selection is .311 in last 15 games and .316 vs Atlanta. The Medlen/Brown matchup may be of greater importance than most think. Atlanta and Philadelphia are foes and not brothers even with the Fourth of July week good feeling across the USA and Philadelphia's City Slogan of Brotherly Love. Atlanta knows fully well that Philly is a tough town with tough fans so with today's game with a 1:35 PM EST start time that decides this series hopefully no incidents will occur but it may indeed see some intense moments.
