Sunday System Plays

Hope everyone is doing well on this Sunday morning. Yesterday was bittersweet and could have been profitable if the Mets bullpen wasn't such a disaster. Also trying to get the bad taste out of my mouth from the joke of an effort that Silva put up last night.

Today though we do what we do best and move on to the next. Rolling down the strip right now looking to get some decent numbers for my plays so I am posting from my phone today and don't have a ton of time. Will be back in a little to update my record.

Tonight.......


Tonight my numbers are telling me that the Angels are the play. From the naked eye, the revenge factor seems like it could motivate Boston tonight but in the regular season I never like to overestimate the revenge angle. For all we know Boston could be more concerned about how the hell they are going to deal with King Felix tomorrow in Seattle.


Basically what I am saying is that it is very difficult to judge the motivation of a first place team in the middle of a long regular season road trip. So IMO, using motivation or revenge as a main factor to wager on Boston is not a great strategy.


The real truth is that the Angels need this game a lot more than Boston does. Time and time again in every sport I have seen certain points in a season where specific events that happen can be a huge turning point for extremely talented underachieving teams. Last night's comeback fits that angle perfectly for the Angels and because of that I believe that they close out the series fairly convincingly tonight.


While Lackey has been solid this year he is also very erratic in pressure situations and I think the fans will be all over him tonight. Weaver on the other hand is finally looking healthy and has been very solid over his last 3 starts. With a national TV audience and their ace on the hill tonight I think this is the perfect time for the Angels to make a statement.
