I have a total of 3 vehicles ( all relatively old) and I'm not happy with the assessments. I'd gladly sell all three to the town for what they are assessing them at !:grandmais

Wife's car is an 2007 CRV nearing 200, 000 miles the town says it's worth $12,040....I'll sell it for that. 10k is more like it, without bluebooking it

My truck is a 2000 F-150 with 130,00 miles on it and I bought it FIVE years ago for $4800, they say it's worth $3,710...... REALLY, I'll take $2500 for it right now. $3710 is really high on this one, more like half of that !

Even my 2001 Vespa Et4-150 is overpriced. I bought it a year ago for $1400 with 5300 miles on it for $1400. It now has about 8400 miles and the town says $1590. Probably worth about $1400.

I think if you challenge it, the town should have to buy it for the assessment...if they don't reduce it.

All depends on the state you live in.

some don't have a property tax on cars but rape you on registration fees on a nice expensive car....not really much difference.

Varies wildly by state. Paid 7% in Indiana, 3% in North Carolina and 0 in Montana on the same vehicle.

Your Honda qualifies for a high mileage reduction. Here you just appeal, write the mileage on the back and mail it back in, or go to the tax office. Unfortunately, I don't think the truck will qualify. Have a Toyota with 165k the same year, and it didn't. They try to over assess my house every year too. Luckily with that one though I have found that if you just appeal it, they do automatically lower it. Good luck...
