If I'd be bed ridden in great pain with no chance of getting better, then I would rather die than suffer needlessly.

So I would say assisted suicide is right

It depends on the suffering person's wants - if they have made it clear either verbally or in writing , they choose death ? respect their wishes. Don't 'think'. Do not judge them . Have the COURAGE to let them go.

We do it with animals that are failing, if a person wants their suffering to end, I dont see a problem with it.

Tough call. If you read up on Dignitas, an ex-employee claims some patients were mentally ill and were not dying. Where does one draw the line? The costs involved are massive as well. Creeps me out to watch the videos but there are a few on Youtube.

It's wrong, whats so hard with letting them kill themselves?

What if you were bedridden and unable to realistically finish yourself off ? I damn well do not want to be stuck in the expensive care unit in the hospital for my last days/ weeks/ months/ years.

We do it for our pets, but our elders suffer to a slow miserable death in a Hospice or nursing home.

Fuck yeah, kill yourself when you are close to death....it should be mandatory.

If a person wants to die let them die. Fuck, overpopulation, we are almost a plague guys, someone suffering and unable to be productive let them die, soldiers dying across the border for oil and bank cartels, oh please go ahead. Idiotic the world we live in.

Agree with most of what you said but having first-hand experience with hospice, it is NOT a slow miserable death. Hospice is designed to be the opposite of that (at least the miserable part). Pain is well-managed and the individual is able to die with dignity.

However, if you would rather punch out early than even go through hospice I can respect that too.

If someone is in a position to dictate when/how he meets his maker, that is the most personal decision I can fathom. I say respect it either way as long as the person is of reasonably sound mind.

Giving them a gun, knife, or poison maybe, injecting them(or shooting them, etc) is totally different, IMO.

I'm familiar with Hospice, nobody ever leaves there alive, my Mom went there to die ( after a nursing home). the staff is great, but it is a place to go to, to die....you'd put your dog down before going to a canine version of Hospice, if one existed.

I don't want those last 6 months of my life, much rather swallow a cyanide pill....if I was able to get one....or some other way to end it ( without a messy gunshot)....like an assisted suicide via Dr. Kervorkian or similar.

Even if you had affairs to get in order and good-byes to say? Of course if you go into hospice you are going to die, but assuming your pain was well-managed you wouldn't want the opportunity to live out your final days? A-OK with me either way as like I said it's a personal decision, just curious.

I volunteer as a hospice "buddy", actually worked this morning. I think hospice is a perfectly understandable and even wonderful choice IF the circumstances align.
