I bought a few things from Sweet Bay today, but what a pain in the azz having to load and carry in those FEW things bagged into FIFTEEN different plastic bags when almost all of them would have fit in one large paper bag years ago...

They used to say paper or plastic? Lol now they don't ask, but the stores so have them. My first job was a bagboy, and we hated the random paper person, however, I do agree with what you're saying. I live in the South, and all grocery stores still have them to my knowledge. My ole lady works at the HQ for the largest around here and they do for sure, although they try to promote the reuseables, which haven't caught on.

I wish they used more bags for me at the stores I go to. They are always asking me now if I mind them packing all my items into 1 bag.Ya, I like my bread crushed flat and bags ripping at the bottom before I can get into the house. :ohno:

stores around here pay you 5 cents a bag for bringing in the re-useable bags.

Same here, but nobody really uses them...

can always go to Aldi where you have to bag your own.

I read somewhere the re-usable bags are unhealthy as they have a high bacteria buildup.

I don't like paper bags, they tend to tear. plastic bags have handles and you can carry a dozen of them at once and re-use them for garbage bags. I try to use the re-useable ones as much as possible however.

A few cities and town have outlawed plastic bags. San Fran being one of the major cities. That being said getting plastic saves me money, since I need them to pick up my dogs poop................

We're not kindergartners here. You can type the word "Damn".

In fact you can type other bad words like dickcheese, fuck and pussy and I'm pretty sure 99.999% of the board won't be offended.
