The Cubs will start the 2H of the season with Jeff Samardzija who has given up 24 hits & 16 runs in his last 17.2 innings. During that stretch he is 0-2 with a 1.92 WHIP and 8.15 ERA. His last time out vs. the Angels he gave up 9 hits, 9 runs, and 4 HR over 4.2 innings. Now he has had a over a week to try and shake that start off. Getting out of routine in is a pitchers worst nightmare.

Jorge De La Rosa on the other hand is looking to go build on his 5-1 record with a 3.15 ERA at home this year. He's coming off of a solid road outing in San Diego last Wednesday Now he'll have a chance to build on his home success vs. the Cubs who own a .230/.295 AVG. and OBP. The usually above average Cubs line-up is only averaging 3.86 R/9 vs. lefty's.

Colorado comes out of the break enduring the long 10 game road trip right before the break. They managed to go 4-6 including splitting the 4 game series with the Dodgers, losing one game 1-0 against a gem by Zack Greinke. The Rockies offense is finally getting healthy. Last week alone they saw the return of Troy Tulowitzki and Dexter Fowler. The Rockies currently sit 4.5 back of 1st in the division and feel extremely confident about their chances. Meanwhile, the Cubs come off a split at home vs. the rival St. Louis Cardinals. While the Cubs have played better of late and I do think they have some upside down the stretch of the season, on the road against a good home pitcher is not the ideal spot. Let's fade the Cubs here.
