Yes... I like all the Gadgets that All men like... and I already have 2 laptops and a IPad

I don't travel anymore with my Laptops, because of the IPad. But if I'm doing a lot of work, typing, etc.. I feel the IPad
( Plus I'm not an Apple fan ) gets to be a pain in the @ss, with using the touch screen, etc.
Plus it really can't do Everything like a laptop can.

One of these Ultrabooks or Chromebooks ( never used Chrome ) seems to me to be the next best thing between a laptop and Tablet. Ok, so no place to slip a Disc in... but How many times do you use that ? I'm not a gamer... and I will watch a Movie online.

can you Download Docs ?? I know I need to do my own research .... But I want to hear how others like it ? or Dislike it ?

BAS;

Our team at work all use Gmail and Load our docs to Drive for sharing. I am considering getting a Chromebook when I come to Vegas, So I can stay connected to the office easier when I am on the road. I agree typing on an Ipad is not the same as key board.

why not just use current one or upgrade to a sleek laptop.. as sick as it sounds this has to be a waste (chromebook) because of the lack of functionality and you will always wish you had the full laptop which only difference is weight.

my thoughts are this.

full size laptop can give you everything a chromebook can and then some.. (except weight)
chromebook can only give you the browser/docs/etc of google and some functionality of a laptop, but lacks a lot and is like accepting a half version of a computer...you will more than likely regret this as a wasted purchase and still be looking for that true functional electronic IMO

Real suggestion is if you have a never ending desire to get one, wait for the new models to come out... this first series shit is exactly that.. test pilot shit and tons of bad reviews and complaints of functionality will be fixed and review for the newer things in a few months.

My point is it being light weight.
so find me a laptop under 4lbs. And I just might bite.
think I saw a 3.9lb. One ...but the lighter the better

You guys are so 1999 with your dislike for Apple haha... They easily have the most refined engineering in the business, and you can even run crappy ass windows if you want - natively! >3lbs and 9+hr battery life? Yeah, I'm pretty okay with those specs. But whatevs... I run linux.

Acer makes a bunch of nice ultrabooks, check out cnet and you'll find them near the top of the "best ultrabooks" list. Chromebooks are nice, but just remember you're software choices are limited... Maybe a netbook with Windows would be better? The big deal with small notebooks is the keyboard - some are downright impossible to type on, so it might be worth it to try them out in a store.

anyway... yeah, going to have to go into a store and try them out.
I was leaning Ultrabooks myself, I believe there are more choices too.

Absolutely get an ultra book, either HP or Lenovo. If your budget allows make sure to get one with SSD hard drive.
