A beer-drinking contest turned out to be a lot less fun than it sounds after the winner died shortly afterward. The competition, part of a beer festival in Murcia, Spain, required contestants to down as many liters of beer as they could in 20 minutes. Somehow that didn't raise any red flags. Joaquín Alcaraz Gracia drank six liters of beer and won. As he lifted the trophy, he started vomiting and went into cardiac arrest. He died in the emergency room. The town's mayor defended the festival, saying it has a long tradition, but did say that any further activities have been suspended. — By Nick Mangione [Source]
