Contract is up this fall.

One guyon my facebook is constantly talking about his $50 everything plan on Boost Moblie and doesn't understand why people pay more? I was thinking about Cricket?

Any disadvantages of these smaller, cheaper companies....

I had Sprint for 10 years before switching to Cricket.

In terms of the price, the $50 plan shakes out to be $60+ a month.

The quality of phone isn't the best. Battery dies quickly from the minute I got it. Don't have good reception at home but other phones have been just fine.

A small thing and a minor annoyance but an annoyance nonetheless. I dial 411 to get a number for somewhere and that isn't part of the $50 plan.

Overall it's "ok" but just because of the price being much less than Sprint. Still looking around for something that fits me "better".

Thanks for the info... I would get an Iphone so I know the quality of the phone... did ya have good reception from home with Sprint??

as far as 411, why not just google it from your phone for a 2nd. I used 411 constantly before smart phones but haven't used it since. Now I just ask siri.

Yeah I do that [Google the number] doesn't always work though.

A couple times tried Googling for the number and the net connection wasn't working.

The quality of reception was better with Sprint.

I'm not ripping Cricket by the way. If I had to it all over again I would walk in having read reviews of phones and knowing what I wanted. (As opposed to me "having to get rid of Sprint because the phone pocket-dialed constantly" (big problem because I work overnight)

I have net10, they use either att or tmobile towers depending on which sim card you choose. It is $45 a month for unlimited talk text and 1.5gb of web on att towers or unlimited web on tmobile towers. I have the att version and I am much happier with them than I was with sprint. My service has been good and my download speed is typically 4 - 6 mbps. I also dont understand why people pay so much to be in contracts with the bigger companies.

The only disadvantage is when buying new phones.. everyone talks about having no contract, but signing 1-2yrs usually gets you a $400-600 phone for $200 at most of these companies.
