The Atlanta Braves dropped a series to the Chicago White Sox after the All Star Break this past weekend and now travel to New York to take on the Mets in some National League East Division action. Atlanta is looking to avoid four losses in five games tonight and the Braves may have some good news coming their way. Jason Heyward is scheduled to be back in the lineup tonight after a hamstring injury and Atlanta can surely use his bat and defensive play as the Braves have had a disappointing start to the second half of the MLB season with Atlanta dropping four of six overall in Heyward's absence. Teheran is 7-5 3.35 ERA for Atlanta and has allowed a combined 12 Runs in less than six Innings Pitched twice in his last three starts. Teheran allowed five Runs in five Innings Pitched in last outing compared to a 2.28 ERA and at least six Innings Pitched in previous ten starts. Teheran will look to regain some of that mid season form tonight but will be challenged by a Mets squad who has scored 18 Runs in three games. New York is 7-3 last 10 during this offensive surge riding a two game win streak coming into tonight's play. New York however does have a 19-28 Home Record contrasted against Atlanta's sub .500 Road Record at 24-28 as well. Gee is 7-7 4.32 ERA for New York with a 2.83 Home ERA compared to a 5.46 Road ERA. Gee is 1-3 4.50 ERA career vs. Atlanta. These teams have split the first ten meetings in this matchup so far this season. Atlanta stranded too many baserunners yesterday in Chicago and Heyward's return in the lineup might resolve some of that problem tonight. Heyward was hitting doubles left and right before the injury and Atlanta hopes Heyward can continue with the extra base hits tonight in New York as the Braves look to get off on the right foot in this series and get some post All Star Break wins.
