Hot Damn what a catch by Jason Heyward. Heyward covered a huge distance in Ceneter Field last night in New York tracking down the ball with a body extending diving catch for the final out sealing an Atlanta win game one of the Braves/Mets series. The Mets pitching staff had Atlanta shut out going into the ninth but Atlanta scratched out two runs in the final inning and Heyward's great defensive play perserved the 2-1 Atlanta win. Heyward went 0-3 with a walk in game one but his brillant glove was a difference maker and Atlanta hopes to carry the momentum of that big play into tonight's game two. Atlanta's Medlen is 6-9 3.64 ERA overall this season but Medlen has been dead nuts vs. New York going 4-0 2.36 ERA in seven career starts all Atlanta wins. Medlen is 1-0 2.77 ERA with 16 K's in 13 Innings Pitched this season vs. New York. Medlen still will be challenged by a Mets squad who averaged 5.5 Runs Per Game winning 10 of 16 but were held to five Hits Monday Night. Marlon Byrd is .333 with five HR's and 16 RBI's in last 17 games. New York's Torres is 0-1 0.79 ERA and starting for only the second time after 10 relief appearances. Torres allowed one Run in five Innings Pitched in his rotation debut but has held Atlanta scoreless in 7 1/3 Innings Pitched in four games out of the Bullpen. Lucas Duda on the 15 DL for New York and BJ Upton also on 15 DL for Atlanta some of the bigger names sidelined for tonight. Jason Heyward missed six games with hamstring injury but by Heyward's performance last night in the field Atlanta only needs Heyward's bat back to confirm a 100% return. Medlen has an excellent track record in this matchup but maybe more importantly will be how New York shruggs off the heart break of letting an all most sure win get away last night. If Atlanta as a team can carry the momentum of Heyward's great game winning catch into tonight the Braves have an excellent chance to peg back to back road wins. Source: CBS MLB Preview.

Mets probably turning to bullpen early tonight. Atlanta should be able to put up some runs. If Medlen pitches avg to good. Braves win easy.
