Be interesting to see how the cubbies respond to the trade on the field. I know many players wanted him gone but a few were very close with him.

My God are yankee fans delusional. Cubs did this to free a spot, the Yankees win 84-86 games with or without Soriano.

I dont think you got rid of all the contract, Cubs still have to pay some of it.

Cubs pay for most of the contract this year. Yanks are only going to pay 7.

It was a good trade for both clubs.

I believe the Cubs are putting some eggs in Lake's basket now and are going to see if he can be a staple in the OF for years to come.

No brainer for Yanks . Yanks offense improves dramatically along with the return of Jeter, Granderson and possibly A Rod.

Alfonso Soriano has only played 39 games for the New York Yankees since he was acquired from the Chicago Cubs, but he is already tied for second on the team in home runs.
Soriano has 13 home runs with New York, second to Robinson Cano's 26 homers.
Lyle Overbay also has 13 home runs (123 games), followed by Travis Hafner's 12 home runs (81 games) and Vernon Wells (11 home runs in 116 games).
