i was told today by a co-worker that was just in las vegas and they said they were charged 20$ for checking in early.ive never heard of this, its crazy if it is going on.then another person said he was in atlantic city recently and they charged him 20$ there for checking in early.this is all hard to believe but i know they would not tell me this if it was not true.where do they get off getting away with this new rule.don't you think they would be happy your there earlier and that you may start gambling sooner.

if anyone knows of this happening in vegas please confirm it so i know before i get there next month

Was at Planet Hollywood 3 weeks ago. Got there at 8am & tried to check in & they said it would cost $20. I paid it only because my rooms were free for the other 3 days

Best to just find the official check in and check out times and plan accordingly.

...but i have heard of places with 4:00 pm check in and 11:00 am check out ... that sucks. ... i want 24 hours please . lol

$20 to get the room at 8 am instead of 2pm isn't that bad. Just take it of somebody's tip at that hotel.

If they are giving you free rooms they will always let you come early or stay late. They want you there as long as possible. Should have asked for a host.

I usually take an early flight out of JFK and arrive in Vegas before noon. Never paid such a fee, although I haven't been there in 3 years

I've seen this when we were booking our Las Vegas trip this year. I can understand if you are checking in at 9am, but if I was checking in at 2pm I would be pissed if they wanted to charge a early check in fee. I've never been charged this in the past so it must be another way for the hotels to collect fees.

do they charge that fee on a comped room? maybe that's the difference

BTW: I can never check in early in AC. They tend to make me wait

They do this because they don't want you to be in your hotel room. They would rather you not pay the $20. It is just a deterrent, and they hope that you'll decide to go kill some time in the casino until standard check-in time.

Haha well that is probably the overwhelming sentiment on this board because we all are gamblers. Vegas attracts much more than that though that need the little boost to go see the casino floor.
