The Atlanta Braves third baseman Chris Johnson may have something in common with MLB's great Hammering Hank Aaron before the clock strikes midnight tonight. Johnson currently has a ten game overall hitting streak working as the Braves travel to Philadelphia for a weekend series but Johnson also has seven consecutive multi hit games as well and if Johnson can produce multi hits again tonight he will tie Hank Aaron with eight consecutive multi hit games when Aaron played for the 1959 Milwaukee Braves. Atlanta has just completed a seven game undefeated homestand and hold the largest National League Division lead in a decade at 11 1/2 games. Atlanta has batted .336 averaging seven runs per game during the seven game win streak. Medlen is 7-10 3.74 ERA on the season for Atlanta but has the team low in run support average at 3.5 Runs Per Game. Medlen lost both starts vs. Philadelphia this season posting a 6.79 ERA however Medlen will not face Ryan Howard and Domonic Brown who are 15 DL for Philadelphia. Medlen will need that run support as Atlanta's offense strives to continue to produce runs by now in a road environment. Martin will make his MLB debut as the starting pitcher for Philadelphia tonight. Martin was 11-5 4.12 ERA at Triple A Leheigh Valley. Philadelphia has 1-9 Last 10 record coming into this series but Philly did win two of three in this matchup back in early July. Johnson with a .346 average during the ten game hit streak can join some elite Atlanta Braves company if things shake out his way tonight at Citizens Bank Park. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
