So, I'm running this game (described below) for a bunch of friends/acquaintances who enjoy betting on football, but don't have a bookie (deceased) and are unwilling to do the online thing. We have a pretty good set of rules, but I'm sure that I'm forgetting something...

  • 4 team parlays (nfl sides and totals, cfl sides - FSB vs FSB)
  • $20 per parlay with $18 going to the weekly pool
  • $2 goes to a season - long pot for the player with the most wins at the end
  • adding half a point to any even number, to avoid pushes
  • lines will be taken from the same source at the same time every week
  • if there are multiple weekly winners the pool is chopped
  • if no one wins the money carries over to the next week
  • players can put as many parlays in as they want, but each must be designated under a different name (ie: mike1, mike2...). this is to avoid someone from stuffing the ballot box for the end of year win total pool.
  • all picks due in before kickoff of the first game bet, or Friday at 5pm (so I don't have to deal with it during the weekend)

So I've never managed something like this before. Are there any situations I'm not accounting for? It will all be post-op, no credit - so you give me picks, you give me the funds.

thanks folks.
