He played well. The real proof will be in if he can consistently play this well and win again or was this just a flash of past brilliance.

how much consistency do you need? he's finished top 6 in 2 majors this year and WON 5 FREAKING TOURNAMENTS IN 2013 and only played in 10.

by the way, nobody else has more than 2 wins this season, so i guess everyone else needs to be more consistent...

I guess I was thinking how he played the Majors, not in other tourneys. I did not realize he had won that many times this year. BTW I'm not a Tiger hater ... I don't give a shit the guy liked to get laid every chance hr got. I wish he would have just come out and said, Hell I'm young, rich and I like sex. Then it really would not have been a story.

Tiger looks to be back to form. Honestly, I think today's Tiger is just as good as the Tiger that used to dominate the PGA.

But the truth of the matter is that the rest of the field is much better. This includes the international field which primarily only show up for the Majors. I think he is fine but to expect him to win 5 more majors is a stretch.

Tiger had a great tournament.. Not a huge surprise.. he usually plays great on HIS courses.. majors are a different animal though.. majors will show flaws in your game.. Pretty much the reason why his game falls apart inn majors on the weekend.... Phil has 3 wins this year and to me his game is better suited this coming week..

my thoughts exactly

he created his own competition by increasing prize money to the point that it motivated everyone around the world to become a professional golfer

I tend to agree with this. But therein lies the problem with trying to win Majors going forward. Much better fields than 10-15 years ago. Even that "other" tournament the Reno-Tahoe Open was represented by golfers with a combined 14 major championships. The talent is spread out pretty well in today's game.

Win majors... its that simple. His non major record is amazing but his consistent collapses and excuses in majors is becoming tiresome. It is possible to be neutral on tiger by the way. I know tiger lovers have a hard time realizing that.

Majors ?? Like 1 guy ever won more??

Exposes everyone else, but in the crap shoot odds are someone will always play out of their ass.

Just to keep everything in perspective, the same field that Tiger beat by 7 strokes consisted of Justin Rose, Lefty and Adam Scott, who have all already beaten Tiger in their respective Majors. My bet is that none of these players have lost their edge in their games, and Tiger isn't any better than he was 2 weeks ago at the British Open or a month ago at the U.S. Open. Having said that, I think this PGA sets up very well for Tiger and gives him the best chance that he's had to win in any of these past 3 Majors.

When, not if, he gets his head together on the weekend at majors he will win them again. You'd be a complete fool to think Tiger's game isn't good enough to win majors. It's in the head ONCE he is in position. His game is by far better than everybody else's. Phil played a month where his game was in that category, but Phil has always done it a month at a time, not consistently.......hope this is tigers weekend.....btw RedEye, you see Tigers son at the tourn? That's brownie points for you, right?

nothing has changed as far as I am concerned.. Tiger has been playing great for most of the year but when its major time his flaws show up.. odds still suck on him so even if you liked his chances what are you going to do ?.. Just looking at the odds, why is Day around 50/1 ? he seems to thrive recently in majors... have to make a wager with him unless for whatever reason this course doesn't suit his game...

Damn, 50/1 on Day? Pretty good for a dude that drives it as well as he does. Guy seems to get overlooked, I'm not sure what the deal is there. I figure him, Scott and Tiger have as good a shot to have a chance on Sunday as anybody

Throw a few, very few, bucks on Jordan Spieth as well. Maybe find a decent top 10 on him

freaking odds went to 52/1 when I went back to play it... Played Scott 18/1 & Phil 16/1.. Might throw some on Rose 37/1 and Snedekar 31/1 also.. maybe Tiger if he gets off to a slow start.. 4/1 is pathetic
