I'm going to be out in Las Vegas for the weekend of 9/29 and I'm thinking of flying into Denver Sunday morning to attend Eagles/Broncos game. I have a couple of questions. Is the taxi fare to Mile High Stadium-Sports Authority from the airport over $60. I know it's a long distance, almost 27 miles. How much time should I allow myself to get to the stadium. Would the taxi run into traffic problems or is getting to Mile High trouble free. I looked at public transportation and it seems rather complicated having to go into downtown Denver and transfer to a bus that gets near the stadium. If my flight arrives at 11am would that be sufficient to get to the stadium for a 2:25pm start. If anyone is familiar with this any help would be appreciated. I have landed in Denver many times but have never been in the city.

Something Ive done many times in other cities depending on circumstances is I scout out multiple hotels near by where I want to go if my timelines are somewhat short, are u going to have bags with u? I find a reduced rate shuttle serivce or a free shuttle service offered by a hotel. I get to the location and check bags, in all the years I've travelled I've never been asked whats the room number or under what name is the reservation. I always tipped the driver and bell people well. I get to the hotel, check the bags, if they ask are you staying with us which is very rare, I tell them yes, I will check in later or Im waiting for my friend who the reservation is under to arrive .....etc...... never been refused. I go to the event and deal with the checked stuff later. It's happened before where Ive been drunk and tired and just dont want to deal with the hassle and just get a room where Ive checked the bags.

Im sure someone from the denver area can help you more but thought this info could help you or others with planning

Sorry bout two posts but my phone messed up and won't let edit. That's the way I'd go though ^^. The first takes you from dia to market street station downtown. Get a few brews then hit up the bronco ride to the stadium. I think the cab would be quite expensive. The bus system is pretty good/clean here.

As far as time, you'll be fine either way. Probably about an hour to get bags and get transportation, about 30 minutes by cab or an hour by bus total trip getting you there around 1-1:30 at the latest.
