I needed two more legs to upgrade my airline status so I booked a flight to Vegas for the Broncos/Ravens game. Staying downtown at the GN for a couple nights - my first time staying downtown. Any restaurant recommendations in the downtown area? Will be golfing both days I'm there, so really just looking for dinner options. Also, will the GN sportsbook work for the game or ???. Thanks

You have one of the Best Steakhouses right there in the GN, Vic & Anthony's

I'm not much of a Downtown guy... but there are a bunch of guys here that know it well.

Garden court buffet in main street station is good, Gn sportsbook is fine but small, the Plaza sportsbook is bigger but lots of riff-raff there. U cant be overly choosy when staying downtown. I suggest you catch the duece bus to the strip (only $6 bucks for 24 hour pass.

Other posters are right, there's good food at Main Street Station. Also make a point to stop by the Golden Gate for their dirt-cheap and fantastic shrimp cocktail from the snack bar.

Thanks for the responses! The micro brewery for the game and the steakhouse at GN on Wed. night is probably the route I'm taking. Thanks again!

Best advice is dont stay Downtown... it keeps getting worse and worse there.... but if you are going to stay then it absolutely has to be at Golden Nugget. and dont spend much time off that property. They have great pool, lots of great gambling. Buffet at Main st is cheap in price but good in value. Heart Attack Grill might be worth a visit also (if your not health conscience)

The steakhouse at California Casino used to be great. Haven't eaten there in years though.

GN is the nicest hotel by far. The pool's not too bad either.

Let us know how it goes.

BAS, yes we did! I'm sure they have those chairs in the pool, that would be stupid to take those away! The slide was pretty fun too, even for a 40-year old dude!
