I don't mean the obvious like wife or kids etc.

What piece of your everyday life can you just not live without?

Well besides the obvious physiological tier of Maslow's HoN, I would say it's a close tie between internet, television, and cell phone.

If I go somewhere without these things I really miss them. Example, I went to Switzerland for a week last month and my cell phone didn't work, we didn't have cable, and for the first few days we didn't have internet. It was OK but even in such a beautiful place I was really starting to miss these things.

90%+ of my waking hours I am utilizing one of these things, even at work (phone/internet). I'm even on my cell phone on the shitter. I guess cooking (~1 hr a day), playing guitar (~5 hours a week), and reading (~1 hr a day) are just about the only things I do where I don't need these things.

My brother bought a place in a small mountain town, went out there to visit him and his wife. It was completely amazing. Here is a picture taken from the master bedroom.

Great hiking, the weather was perfect, the views were amazing; it really was like living in a picture. All that said, I still did miss my modern-day technological crutches.

Wow, that looks wonderful Harry.

I'm like you though, I would miss every day technology as well...

Yeah it was really sweet. The point is not to brag on my trip but rather to point out that even in arguably the most beautiful place on Earth I still have trouble living without internet/TV/phone. One more pic taken from the top of Mont Fort, where you can see all the way into Italy, Germany, and France on a clear day. This is from the observation deck which has this view 360 degrees.

What's crazy is it was like 75 degrees when we left the house and 25 by the time we got up to this peak.

Cell phone for business reasons. Weed is tough for me to live without. It calms me when things seem too much to handle, and I hate to admit it but it makes life generally more enjoyable for me.

I quit smoking but I would have to agree with you. Makes everything 10x better, especially sports and entertainment.
