Could end up being Aaron Rodgers.

Guess it also depends how long they were a backup to rank them in this category/question.

Minimum 2 years...maybe..3..?

One year sitting on the bench shouldn't count right guys?

Are we talking was once a back-up? Cuz there's tons of talented Star QB's that sat initially to learn behind their starter. Marino was initially a back-up. Same with Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady.

If we're talking journeyman back-up finally gets his shot and shines then Steve Young or Kurt Warner

Yes. you can't count them if they are sitting on the bench for a Season or so and then starting....

Yeah, can't count a year or two... Most QB's start on the bench... Min. 2 years I would say

Rogers sat about 3 years.

Brady sat maybe 1?

Young was a starter in Tampa before going to San Fran and backed up Montana for a few years correct?

Right now I say it's between Young & Rodgers...

Rodgers sat behind Favre for 3. But everyone knew he was the heir apparent. He was moreso the QB in the wings then the back-up.

I like Young and Warner because noone ever thought they'd be starters again. They were singed to be BACK-UPS and when they got their shot they never looked back

Brady sat for the entire 2000 season and part of the 2001 season.

He was also the fourth string QB in 2000.

If we talk about long term backups then....... Frank Reich's name has to come up.

Possibly Charlie Batch as well
