Anybody familiar with Tulsa? Wife just landed an achor for the morning show with Fox in Tulsa. Heard TONS of great things, but was trying to get a non-biased view. From what I have heard, it is a really nice city. The last 5 years the city has practically been rebuilt and everything looks new. Any of you familiar with it and have any suggestions?

I guess I didn't realize Tulsa was as big as it is. Noticed as far as TV markets are concerned that it is not far off from Austin as she just turned down a gig with NBC in Austin to take this position.

I used to live there. One of the best days of my life was the day I left and knew I wouldn't be back.

Mayo 420 Building. Know anything about it? They have some very nice looking lofts there that we are looking at. Is it in a nice part of town?

Downtown has improved dramatically over the last few years. Lots of nice upscale condos and apartments, thriving nightlife and OneOk Field, the BOK Center and Guthrie Green are within walking distance. It's an awesome area IMO, but there are still some homeless people and shady characters walking around. The hood is a stone's throw away on the north and east side of downtown. I wouldn't say it's unsafe at all but just like in any populated area it's a good idea to keep your wits about you. I was just at Guthrie Green on Thursday night watching a movie on the lawn with about 500 other people and they always have live bands there. The big thing in Tulsa now is food trucks and they spend a lot of time downtown and the food is amazing.

I moved here in 1998 and I like it here a lot. I think you'll be happy here.

Oklahoma has the nicest people in the USA without a doubt. Dealing with them on the phone at work was a pleasure. And driving through there, people go out of their way to talk to you just when you walk into a gas station or restaurant.

Also let me add that Tulsa has a fantastic live music scene. You would be within walking distance of two of the leading venues in ticket sales for their size in the United States, Cain's Ballroom and the BOK Center.

We might also look at renting a house. I would prefer for it to be in a very nice neighborhood. House doesn't have to be lavish and huge, but just a nice place in a very good neighborhood. Any areas we should be looking at that fit the mold?

A lot of the newer and nicer additions are in the burbs, particularly Jenks or Broken Arrow. BA would be a lot more convenient to the Fox studio.

Awesome man. I appreciate the help. Main thing we are concerened about is safety. Reason I looked at the Mayo 420 is because of it being right downtown and it looked really nice. You can never really tell with apartments by just looking online, but I have heard good things about the Mayo building from those that I have asked. Do you know of any other nice apartments in nice parts of town?

Check out the Cherry Street(15th) area. Lots of new developments there as well. As for decent apts there are some nicer ones on Memorial between 81st and 91st.

I've been hanging around downtown a lot recently between going to the baseball games, movie night at Guthrie Green and Food Truck Wednesday. I'd love to live in that area but it's out of my price range now. Safety isn't a concern in the immediate area around 5th and Main IMO.

Those food truck parks have really taken off in the last year or so here in Fort Worth as well. Great time when it isn't scorching hot out...

Lone Wolf is my favorite but I heard good things about the Local Table truck. Every Wednesday from 11:00-1:30 a bunch of food trucks park around Guthrie Green. Last time I was there, they had 15 trucks and live music. Just a cool scene.

You can search Tulsa Food Trucks on Facebook to find out where many are going to be.

Any input on the Brady Arts District? Looking at some lofts there....
