Went into Amscot, had 2500 to send to 5 dimes, 2k to send to bookmaker

Dude at the counter looks at me suspiciously and goes fill out this form to put u in amscots system (He flagged me in the computer )

Then proceeded to ask what I was sending it for, I said international purchase, he said what kind of purchase, proceeded to call his manager, hounded me, and I just took my money and walked out, I never once said it was gambling I kept it vague I'm not a good liar apparently

I've heard western union if they suspect it's gambling will just take the money before it reaches the books and ur shit out of luck

Just go to a convenience store and send it. Not sure what Amscot is. In Canada Western union is everywhere even little tiny convenience stores.

I always hear these stories but never once experienced anything negative. Every time I have used Western Union it was been a hassle free experience.

goto walmart and try.

I think this is an isolated case. I mean you cant narrow the entire process down to a bust if one time this happens to you personally. Send a different method if needbe.

Agree with Murph. Go to any grocery store or something like that that has Western Union... the "agents" (Customer Service representatives in grocery stores) could care less and just want to get the transaction over with as quickly as possible. 99.9% would never even *think* of reporting someone for any type of illegal transaction.

walmart is not a WU merchant but is a MG merchant.
Prefer MG over WU, anyway.

you missed the end quote "[ / QUOTE ]"
anyway, i haven't tried it yet. and i don't think i will. btw, there is also a possibility that scammers from nigeria are also trying to use western union to transfer their money that they were able to get from other people.

Not sure if this is true, but I heard there are limits an individual can send in a month, in hundreds of transactions over years, never had an issue, but switch between WU and MG each time to spread it out. Never had anyone ask me for a reason or an ID when sending. And never heard of WU keeping funds, sounds like urban legend. I was scammed before using MG, but it wasn't MG, it was the guy at the PPh shop claiming it was MG. Sounds like a case of nervz!

I normally use WU online, but they updated the site maybe a month or so ago and now when I try to send money the maternal name does not show anymore at the last page even when you enter is a page or 2 earlier. Has anyone else used online to send and has there been any problems for them recently?

sending $4500 at once is a touch much. it's best to send a few hundred.
