HANOVER, Md. — The 52-table poker room at Maryland's largest casino is set to open to the public

Dealers will start shuffling cards at Maryland Live! Casino in Hanover at noon on Wednesday. A grand opening ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.Maryland Live! opened in June 2012 with 3,200 slot machines. In November, voters authorized table games at the state's casinos, and the casino began offering blackjack, roulette and craps in April.

The poker room covers nearly 15,000 square feet and is one of the largest in the region, as well as the closest to both Baltimore and Washington. It will offer games with a variety of betting limits, as well as tournament play.

Found this...

Opening day of the poker room and they only have half the tables open. Disorganized lines and $5 beers while you stand in line for two hours. They have a lot to learn about customer service.

That place is going to be a gold mine. It is 20 minutes from Baltimore and 45 minutes from DC. They will eventually workout the kinks and steadily fill the room.

Right now their only competition for DC is Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, WV. Hollywood casino has the worst poker room ever. The room is 20 degrees warmer than the rest of the casino, and they only offer No limit cash games or 3/6 limit. It's basically 30 1/2 NL limit tables. It's a joke. Maryland Live needs to spread around some high limit, limit poker games.

Yea, the poker room in Charlestown isn't great, but the rest of that casino really shits on Maryland live. Having said that, I have only been to MD live once and it was like the 2nd weekend, but they only had 4 Roulette tables I think and they were all 25$ and 50$ limit. Tough for a low roller like myself to play except for on the computer with the live spinner. They also had way too many weird dancers and charged for drinks. Hoping it gets better because the drive to Charles town is a real gas eater going all the way up 270

Both casinos are a joke. Filled with just degenerate losers. They are there to suck money out of people, that's it. Both places offer no kind of a resort experience. Maryland Live is literally in a strip mall. There is a Costco and Burlington Coat Factory connected to the casino. Couldn't help but think of how many Little Timmy's out there aren't going to get xmas presents cuz their dipshit old man stopped by the BJ table before going xmas shopping at one of the zillion stores around the casino. Both places treat their players like shit with the shitty odds on craps, hit on soft 17, and minimal drink service. There is so much demand around here, that they basically have a monopoly. Save your money and head to Vegas or the Borgata a few times a year, rather then play at these shit places.

But if you must scratch the itch I would recommend Maryland Live b/c of its proximity to DC.

I am an employee their and dont take offense to anything anyone could possibly say regarding it, but you sound silly making up things. The costco is in a completely different parking lot and we DO NOT hit soft 17.

Charging for drinks is a state law and that isnt changing. Charlestown shits on it? LOL in what way? Md Live is 100 times nicer. If you come on the weekend nights yes the limits are high. But the reason they are so high is because the place is completely jammed.
