Chris Davidson has made an incredible offer and has offered to match any donations made between now and Saturday for hour new restaurant CHA CHA CHA in San Juan Del Sur. If you are considering donating now would really be the time. If not please share this post especially if you know anyone that wants to stick it to Chris. Figure that might be perfect on this forum. I guess the haters will start firing away at us now. Scott ie. hangman take it easy.

I'm confused. Why do you need donations? Is this a for-profit business, or a non-profit venture?

Absolutely is a for-profit venture, and this is one way to raise funds for a for-profit business. Having money already, finding an investor, borrowing money from a bank being the more traditional options.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you invest in a "for-profit venture" don't you expect a return on your investment?

Exactly. Think it is pretty self explanatory what you get from your donation. Wouldn't call this an investment as much of as an odd memento. Like being an "investor" of the Green Bay Packers. Plenty of people use these kickstarter sites as backing to their projects. Details on the right clearly say what you get for your money.

I loved the TOT. I just thought I'd read this wrong or misunderstood the equity distribution. The line between donor and investor seems to be blurred here.

i kept my mouth shut for years after i was told i was doing the tot good for 'advertising' their business for them when me and darkness were saying how greeasy and overpriced their food was. I watched teh whole demise and did not chime in with my antics and wish them bad because i really felt bad for them that they went out of business. Now asking for a donation to start a for profit business is just stupid. Can u believe these clowns

Again, I had nothing against the TOT, but if I want a dinner at their new place, I'll walk in and order it off the menu. I hope they find a cozy home in that community, But I don't really think it's this community's job to provide seed money for a restaurant in SJDS.
