does that mean we have to suck?

and 25 years ago, we were told UConn can never compete in basketball in the Big East. What basketball players will choose Storrs over Boston, NYC, DC, Phil, Pitt yada yada yada

I trust that people whom sign for the petition not living within the state/city is useless.
You should probably gather up some friends or people within the community to print thousand
of flyers and distribute them. That would be more effective.

They went to the Fiesta Bowl a couple years ago. They were decent that year.

Thats still a LONG way from good.

I like this approach. Nip the problem right from the get-go. To those who think UConn doesn't have a program that can't compete in football, where have you been in the last 6 or 7 years? Ask Michigan about taking these smaller schools lightly. Ever since then the college football stereotype world has changed.

I never understood the hiring to begin with.
Maybe the athletic director who ignored the rich donor should have listened to the guy when he said he was going to quit giving the school money if they hired him.

One of the dumbest hires in recent memory.

That and the clown who coached at Arkansas last year.

Is there a point here? Winning 1 big game a year is useless if you go 500 or worse against the rest.

You are missing the point.

Nowadays....don't take anyone lightly. The point I was making is that as compared to as earley as ten years ago to 15 years ago you could always count on certain teams beatin' the shit out of other teams in the non-conference schedule when it was always David vs Goliath for most big conference schools. Nowadays a big school can't always make the assumption of overlooking the first two or three non-conference games. Think about it, would it be all that surprising if this year a lower team or two beats a bigger school in convincing fashion?

FYI - Appalachian State went 13-2 the year they beat Michigan.

No doubt about it. 15 years ago if a I-AA school beat a I-A it was huge news and if they came within ten points it was an accomplishment; today no one blinks when someone gets taken down. A lot of it does have to do with the fact that there are more I-A teams now than there should be.

it started on a UConn forum, and we're charged with putting everywhere we can

the petition will be forwarded to the AD and President upon completion

although I find the chance of an in season firing at about 25%, we need to make sure that loser does not get an extension
