i have some things for you to remember and think about before you make your wagers.this is from my old notes and has shown to be very successful in the long run.if you can discipline yourself to follow these steps then you should show a profit in the end.

the don'ts and why

1-never bet on a home team laying 1 point in any sport(this is a huge sucker bet,all they have to do is win-that is what the books want you to think)

2-nfl-never lay these numbers with the fav(1,2,5,5.5)these numbers entice you to take the favorite-you would be at 36% if you played all of these.

3-never play home favorites in tv games(big games)when the concensus is on that team

4-never play teasers in any sport except the NFL-and only then in certain situations.

5-never bail out on sunday night and monday night games-(why do you think payday is on tuesday with most locals

6-never ever play parlays-if you really like two games you are better off betting an action reverse bet(better numbers here)

7-never follow sports services or analyst(they always hype one team)

8-never bet on posted trends(sportsbooks put these out-just so you know

9-never buck a streak(i.e. don't bet against a team when they are 20-2 ats

10-don't play too many totals-these are complete crapshoots

11-never pay for a service-its a waste of money

12-never buy points -except to 3 in the nfl-(waste of money if you do)

13-never lay 120-150 with home teams in MLB(these hit 45% of the time)

14-never bet against a team cause their star player is out-(lines are already adjusted)

15-never bet on a favorite in the NFL if the line doden't from open to close.

16-never bet the dog on the moneyline in football when the line is between 1-3 in the NFL-payout is not worth the risk-if you notice the dogs that win outright are usually between 4-10 point dogs.

17-never bet a fav on the moneyline if the ML is more than -125-this is just a bad proposition.

18-do not bet on a team cause their stats are better-this is already taken into account in the line

19-do not bet on a team when every service has them-especially a GOY

20-do not bet on a game because someone on a forum has it as a GOY-unless it is someone who is credible

21-do not play a total because you think the weather will affect the outcome-(line has been adjusted already)

now the do's and why

1-do bet on a road dog when the consensus is on the home fav in a big TVgame unless you are bucking a streak(I.E. 3:30 cfb game on cbs or abc ).road dogs against the public hit at over 70%

2-do bet on a dog in the NFL if the line does not move all week(I.E. line opens at 3 and stays there all week-bet the dog.

3-do bet on a road dog when the publicis on that same side team-this goes for any sport

4-do bet on a team when their star QB is hurt in the NFL (the teams always steps up and wins)

5-do bet on a team that is on a streak when they are an underdog

6-do have many outs -line shopping will do you better than buying points(I.E. line at one shop you can get 6 unlike at another you can get 7-7.5(makes a big difference)

7-do bet on home dogs getting more than 10 points in CFB-NFL

8-do bet on the over when the total is 54 or higher in the NFL

9-do bet the over when the total is 74 or higher in CFB

10-do bet the under when the total is less than 39 in CFB

11-do bet the under when the total is less than 34 in the NFL

there you have some simple rules to go by and make money in the long run

good luck to everyone this year in CFB and NFL FOOTBALL

Some of your tips are decent and I like your thread idea but #8 and #9 completely contradict each other and #13 is completely false in the dont section

I like this list (although a few are whack).. it is a good read for sure and made me shake my head in agreement for most.

Some good thoughts here, but I've done best when I don't let any of this stuff enter my head. Each game is its own, something that has happened before has no bearing on one single outcome. Long term maybe, but individually none IMO.

Yea doubledeuce that is why I said it is in the long run

Believe it or not these things work as long as you can be patient.

I know that some people are not on board with all of these but that's okay cause everybody has their own opinion
