One of my main sleepers over the past few years, Ivan Nova, has something to do with that. He's been absolutely tremendous.
Of course, Yankee fans don't really deserve his great success, as most had already "written him off" (Even though his up-and-down struggles in recent years were due to injuries and he had some bad breaks in his starts as well that would just snowball; as I've written about in great detail, he's one of those mentally-oriented pitchers who can let in-game situations that are outside of his control dictate how he faces upcoming batters, in that it will throw him off mentally with his focus but he's improved on that as well).
And Joe Girardi almost stupidly banished him to the bullpen at one point. Ugh. Yet here he is, pitching like the ace I always said he was, providing remarkable steady pitching after resurfacing in the rotation months ago. And he's going to continue to do that. One of the most underrated starting pitchers in baseball over the past few years, period.
