[h=1]Las Vegas Casino Launches Online Sports Betting App[/h]ByRenee Kon Sunday, September 8th, 2013in Poker News
South Point Hotel Casino Spa in Las Vegas has launched a real money sports betting app, bringing to four the number of Sin City establishments which have jumped on the bandwagon. The free to download South Point Casino sports betting app is compatible with iOS and Android devices.
Other operators which offer a sports betting app are William Hill, Cantor Gaming and Station Casino. South Point decided to join in the bid to vie for Nevada consumers’ business after the casino hired former Will Hill marketing executive, Jimmy Vaccaro to launch an online poker and mobile brand, under the Real Gaming brand.
A number of big names in the Las Vegas land casino industry, including MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment have still not rolled out real money mobile sports betting platforms for their customers, despite the growing popularity of this highly lucrative market.
The general manager of South Point, Ryan Growney said about the launch: “Our guests have the possibility to place their sports bets from home, while at South Point at dinner or at the bar. By adding this new mobile betting application to our sports books offerings, we can showcase a new method of placing bets to sports fans throughout Nevada.”
To operate the new sports betting app, customers need to physically visit the casino in Las Vegas, however once this happens, they’ll have access to a wide range of sports wagers in the United States market, including straight bets and parlay bets. Parlay cards and pari mutuel racing will not be offered on the new South Point mobile sports betting platform.
Adverting for the new app began on Friday and players are requested to make a minimum deposit of $100 to start wagering.
