Geno is going to get PUMMELED in New England. I say at least 2 INT's and maybe more. It's true that NE didn't look great against Buffalo but I see a bounce back here in the home opener. I think we'll find out how green he really is, and how bad the Jets really are. Tampa made them look a LOT better than they really are.

This will be his true "Welcome to the NFL" moment...LMAO

Or he could go into New England throw 2 td's and run 2 td's in lead the Jets to a win and a legend is born?

Not 100% sure about that Statement, not saying it can't happen... But, they did have Trouble with a Rookie QB last week.... and Just like Manuel, Geno is a mobile QB

also IMHO, the Jets defense might be slightly better than Buffalo's.

How do you figure they had trouble? Offense for BUF scored 14. He had 18 completions for 150. Brady fumbled at 1, new england game was not as close as actual score.

NE defense played very good in Buffalo. The Bills only had 286 yards on offense and 1 legitimate scoring drive, and that with a backfield that includes Spiller & Jackson

Manual passing for 150 yards and rushing for 23 yards is no great concern for me

having said that, it's the NFL, it's a division rival and shit does happen

18/27 2 TD's, No Picks .... also ran for 23 yards on 3 att. one being for 19 yards

I mean we are talking about the Pats here.... Manuel is a Rookie QB, you would think the Pats would have picked him apart.
Not saying he Stomp them.... Just they almost beat them.

Teams need to stop playing the Pats/Brady in a prevent ...when it's close and under 5 mins.
They never went after him in this game when Buffalo was a head.

Manuel is NO Gino Smith. He's a MUCH MUCH better QB IMO. Smith has some decent tools, but you can tell it's going to take some significant experience for him to become the QB NY hopes he will be. The other side of it is that it was week 1 AND Buf was at home. NE doesn't lose to rookie QB's at home. Truth is they kill them.

I'm not saying the Jets can't make a good game of it or even win. It's the NFL after all...Any given Sunday (or Thursday). I'm just saying that I can see the Jets coming apart in this game against a NE defense that is better than most think. I also believe we'll see some minor improvement from those young receivers. Add it all up and you have a double digit NE win in the home opener. Just my opinion...

True, on Any Given Sunday ... even though it's a Thursday game. lol

I believe the Jets have No shot, but might keep it semi close.

Well I predicted the INT's right, but WOW that was ugly by NE on the offensive end. By JETS too. If Sanchez had been the QB they would have definitely won that game. Geno actually played OK I thought, but showed his rookie status by missing numerous open receivers. Can't believe NE didn't use their tight ends at all, nor how bad the rookies were in route running and catching. Patriots are in BIG trouble. Even with Gronk and Amendola back, they are going to need guys to step up better than those guys did. Defense was OK. Not great but certainly OK. Brady looked beyond frustrated. They are going to need the extra time to prepare for next week.

As well as NY ran, why did they insist on throwing all of the time in the 4th qtr?

they wanted to make sure i won the dumb "geno to throw an INT prop -240" i bet :) (was getting pretty concerned actuallY)

didn't make a lot of sense but few Ryan decisions make a lot of sense anyway

for 3 Qts, it didn't look good for your wager, but bottom line is it did happen and it was a good bet

Geno Smith proves he's the NY Jets guy after win over Atlanta Falcons

ATLANTA — When the Falcons take stock in what went wrong on Monday night, they’ll be able to pinpoint the villain who did them in without too much difficulty. He was young and flawed and surely the elixir to turn their season around.

He turned out to be their worst nightmare.

Prime time was the right time for Geno Smith, who looked every bit like a franchise quarterback in the making in the Jets’ 30-28 stunner over the Falcons. Smith, poked and prodded in a turnover-filled first month of his career, was brilliant in a three-touchdown masterpiece that helped Rex Ryan’s team stun just about everyone not wearing Green and White.

“He’s taken on every challenge thrown at him,” right guard Willie Colon said. “(From) the (quarterback) competition battle to everyone (criticizing) the turnovers… Every time they question him, he steps up. He’s a fighter in my eyes.”

Smith, who went 16-for-20 for 199 yards with a 147.7 quarter rating, did his best superhero impersonation by saving the day after the Jets’ typically stout defense squandered a 13-point fourth-quarter lead.

Don't you mean BRADY is going to get pummeled by the Jets? I would rank the Jets defense up there with the Bengals, and we know what happened last week!

With all the struggles on offense the Pats are having because of injuries, thank goodness they have a really good defense. 2nd in the league in points allowed. They've played more games on the road then at home. They get Gronk back this week. They are in really good shape considering what they've had to deal with. Winning ugly is the way it goes sometimes in this league.

Got that right. A win is a win is a win. We'll find out a lot about the Pats this week when NO comes to town. I expect them to bounce back and for it to be a tight game either way.

And Geno looked really good last night for the Jets. If they keep playing like that, they will hang with anyone. I just don't believe they will keep doing it though.

the Pats can and do lose 3 or 4 games per year, sometimes in unexpected fashion

but they never ever ever never start 0-5, ever

damn, they rarely lose 5 games in a season. Brady lost > 4 twice in his last nine seasons, and one of those was a rehab season
