After checking my mail in awhile, I noticed that I had a jury summons for yesterday which I missed. What happens now.

Best thing would be to show up tomorrow and see what happens.

If you neglect it altogether they would put out a warrant , but they likely wouldnt use the recources to come arrest you , but it will show up on dmv if you get pulled over.

...I would just show up tomorrow and play dumb like your calender was wrong.

Bench warrant or fine. Think it varies by state

In 99.9% of cases...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You will get another notice in the next 6-18 months. Go to that one if you want.

They don't have the resources to hunt down REAL criminals never mind people who don't show up for jury duty. If they issued bench warrants for everyone that missed it, the freaking judges would never have time for anything else...LMAO.

Don't sweat it. Almost everyone I know has missed it 2 or 3 times at least. Just do your civic duty and go to the next one.

ignore it ! They can't prove you got it via regular mail, They'd have to send it registered mail.

we all get mail for other people many times a year.

they should pay you a decent wage for that jury duty BS, like $20/ hr

or have professional jurors

They will never hunt you down for a bench warrant....but if you get pulled over or detained in anyway it will be a pain.

Don't know where you live but......the judges here write bench warrants for EVERY no show, without exception.

Your BEST bet is to call and tell them you just got the mail/summons after being out of town.

This is the only correct advice in the whole thread.
Ignore all the rest.

if you don't respond they thin you out of the sucker's list that will perform jury duty....if you go, they will call back every 3 years.

you can't really throw people in jail because their mailman is incompetent and puts your jury duty notice in the wrong place !

Now any 2nd and 3rd notices should be via certified mail that you sign for. They likely skip over you and pick somebody stupid enough to go for $15 a day or whatever.
