WTF, when is the next currency change.?

the only place you can take that money now is to the central bank downtown, the money will be honored forever

we dont have a scheduled change

only the US changes bills and doesnt retire the old notes, this is a problem because it means counterfeiters can continue counterfeiting the older/less secure notes forever.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

Unlike the newer "secure" bills in CR that never get counterfeited, lol

of course they get counterfeited but the point I am making is

1) by never removing the lesser secure bills , it makes it easier for the crooks
2) the newer bills are more secure, if idiots dont want to check the security feature well, you cant help stupid

again, the US is the only country that seems not to phase out their currency, its one of its many weird traits, along with its resistance to adopt the metric system, its 'ideas' about evolution, their taxation system by which Americans have to pay taxes even if they live in Timbuktu and so on and so forth.

Actually Americans get a pretty good tax break, if you live out of the US you are exempt from paying taxes on your income as long as you are making less than $92k (think this is more now) a year. Good deal.

its a shitty deal with you compare it to every other country in the planet, where you pay ZERO taxes to your home country (no matter how much you make) if you don't live in it

plus in addition to that most banks in the world will not open bank accounts to US citizens due to compliance costs

TY Wolf, wasn't a large amount, but will have my girl go there. Was "shocked", like the police captain in Casablanca when they told me money was no good. Happened once before, casino here in Fla, Seminole Cocoanut Creek, I eventually got my money once I told them my congressman and newspapers would be hearing about it, what a scummy shot they took, I just hate getting cheated, if I lose, okey dokey, but don't cheat me.

well I'm from the US and haven't lived there form more then a decade and I'm very happy with the US tax laws..I don't owe anything. But you might know better than me. Now if you are a person worth a couple of million dollars and moving all your $ and assets to other countries they might not like the laws so much. But they can get their team of accountants together and work out a solution. I wish I had those problems.

To each its own. I am not from the US so I dont have a stake in it at all and if you are happy that's fine, I am simply making a point that its ridiculous to tax a person that hasn't lived in a country for over a decade for profits generated half way around the world. Its like if your 1st wife would be able to claim ownership on something you make while being married for the 4th time. I believe but not certain that the only country in the world with such rules is...............

Curiously enough, there was an ad in today's newspaper (in CR) about a casino from Los Suenos, in Herradura closing and giving time till dec 2013 to trade the chips in, after that poof.
