Anyone buying this bullshit?

I hate bama, but I think -40.5 is ridiculous :ohno:

The predicted line for the Week 6 game between the 4-0 Denver Broncos and the 0-4 Jacksonville Jaguars is already creating some buzz, with the estimated line favoring the Broncos by about four touchdowns. That 28-point spread (or 27-point line, depending who you listen to) looks more like a college football spread between a top 25 team in its annual cupcake game than anything the NFL has ever seen.
The surprising thing is that the point spread for a hypothetical game between the No. 1 college football team and the Broncos looks a bit like the line between the Jaguars and the Broncos.
[Yahoo Games: First footage of next-gen Madden NFL 25 revealed]
If the Broncos played the Alabama Crimson Tide, the consensus top team in every poll and the two-time defending national champions, the spread would be set at minus-40.5 or higher, according to one oddsmaker.
“If Denver is about 27-point favorites over Jacksonville in Week 6 at Denver, we would have to set the Broncos as at least 40.5 point favorites over the Crimson Tide,” Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager of Bovada.lv told Yahoo Sports. “Potentially even higher, as we would assume Denver would score almost every drive while Alabama would be lucky to score 10 points."
That potential 40.5-point spread for the Broncos is a large number, but a hypothetical line between the Jaguars, the NFL's worst team, and college football's No. 1 team is a lot smaller.
"It is not easy to set accurate hypothetical lines on an NFL team vs. an NCAA team for a number of reasons. The two main ones being that this has never happened before and no actual money comes in on it,” Bradley said. “We often will use historical data and how our bettors bet the lines we open and adjust odds from there on any given game. Having said that, even though the Jags are awful and 0-4, they would still be big 17.5-point favorites over Alabama.”

sorry brah.. hate is strong (agreed)..I will say I am not amused by them. heh

I would like to see them be "upset" puff_>>

As far as the point spread. I am not doubting that Denver would clobber them.. but I personally dont think it would be a score every drive as the writer/oddsmakers have put it.. especially if it was played like an nfl game... the pace would be much slower and final would be around 38-10 imo

If the Broncos would have legit motivation, Alabama would never stop them. Never. And Bama might get a Fg. 68-3. Jacksonville would beat Bama by 4 TDS. It is worse than Bama playing Savannah State.

agree, but I think if this game were really happening then Bama would sure as hell use the entire play clock on every snap. I think there simply wouldn't be enough possessions to get this thing too out of hand....and when it is 42-3 in the 4th, maybe denver puts in 3rd stringers and doesn't run up the score at all....and even a lucky backdoor cover for bama

As bad as Jacksonville is, it still is a 24/7 job for them. They would find a weakness sonewhere. Just don't think any college defense can handle a pro offense.

Denver can name their score. Jax on the other hand is extremely bad, id take Bama if the line was double digits.

I just dont think the pace of the game in pros would warrant this.. that is why I think even their "low" spread is crazy because I dont see an nfl team trying to score like that.. I guess if there was ever motivation like you speak then yes the spread would be covered easily.. but I since the game is fictitious we will never know and I still think the slower style of the nfl would make it less of a bet to cover on denver.

This type of argument has been hashed out in other seasons so many times.....................JAX would be at LEAST -20 vs ANY college team, it's men vs boys, JAX is loaded with former college studs, LOADED, silly discussion really.

Agree 100%.... It's the equivalent of a High School team of all seniors playing a 6-7th grade team and I don't care if the 6/7 graders were compiled of all local all-stars, the high school seniors are still going to beat them down very, very badly...

100-0 would be a best case scenario for Bama

This sounds like the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Geirgetown Hoyas argument in the early 80's. Assuming both teams' "A" game for 60 minutes, Denver by a least 60 and Jax by at least 30.

Jacksonville would destroy Oregon....Can u imagine Mariota trying to run? He'd be lucky to make it out of the 1st Quarter as there would be defenders swarming him each play with an offensive line overmatched....It would like the 80's version of Tecmo Bowl when the entire defense swarms on the quarterback.......The biggest adjustment college players would have to make is the speed of game (even Oregon players)....Everything moves a lot faster at each position....Even great college back CJ Spiller said he was shocked how fast the defensive tackles move in the NFL as compared to college as it takes time to get used to everyone all over the field moving faster than normal.

Anyone who even thinks that Alabama would even have a prayer against Jville, much less Denver does not understand the game.

Jville would literally beat Bama by 100.

In this situation there would not be much difference in how big Jville beats Bama vs how bad Denver would be Bama.

The differential is so great in both cases you would not be able to tell the difference regardless if it was Jville or Bama.

i understand the argument against, but I really think bama would hold their own against jax. first of all, blaine gabbert fukin sucks. sucks. and i think the best 11 on each side, bama not that far apart. depth is the real issue. one could argue that top 11 on each side, bama has more first round talent on their roster than jax does.
