C.J. Spiller (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Thursday night's Week 5 game against the Browns.

Spiller returned to a limited practice Wednesday after being sidelined Monday and Tuesday. He's going to be a full-blown game-time decision tomorrow night. The Bills are bringing practice squad RB Ronnie Wingo with them to Cleveland as insurance. Spiller will go through pre-game warm-ups and a decision will likely be made then. Fantasy owners need to have a backup place in place.

Fred Jackson (knee) is listed as probable for Thursday night's game in Cleveland.

Jackson practiced every day this week after suffering a "mild" MCL sprain on Sunday. Depending on C.J. Spiller's (ankle) status, Jackson could be in for a big workload. He'd be a shaky flex option in Spiller does suit up.

Coach Doug Marrone said he "feels good" about C.J. Spiller's (ankle) chances to play in Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Spiller is now 10 days removed from a 13-snap, eight-touch performance last Thursday night. He figures to be far healthier and is fully expected to suit up, so we'd expect a far bigger workload. At the very least, Spiller should be in an even timeshare with Fred Jackson and split touches evenly. That's more than enough for the explosive Spiller to be locked in as a RB2. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms Spiller will play and has "improved steadily during the week."

Coach Doug Marrone confirmed C.J. Spiller (ankle) "will be out there on Sunday" against the Dolphins.
Spiller's game day status was never really in doubt. He's been playing through the ankle injury the past two weeks, though he's noticeably still being affected by it. Spiller is currently Rotoworld's No. 19 running back this week.

C.J. Spiller (ankle) is inactive for Week 8 against the Saints.
Spiller was listed as doubtful on the injury report after not practicing at all during the week. He's not happy about missing the game, but the Bills are doing it right by sitting him and letting Spiller try and get back to 100 percent. Fred Jackson will get the start and is a borderline RB1 this week. Tashard Choice and Ronnie Wingo will be the Nos. 2 and 3 running backs. Also inactive for the Bills are E.J. Manuel (knee), QB Matt Flynn, CB Justin Rogers, OLB Ty Powell, G Antoine McClain, and OLB Manny Lawson (hamstring).

Speaking Monday, Bills coach Doug Marrone called C.J. Spiller's injury a high-ankle sprain, and said he's going to "wait" on Spiller's Week 9 status.
The phrase "high-ankle sprain" seems to get thrown around rather freely these days — true high sprains are extremely difficult to play through — but it's clear Spiller's injury was and is a serious issue. One week may not be enough to heal it. Spiller's status will be updated no later than Wednesday. A limited practice would put him on pace to face the Chiefs.

Speaking Thursday, C.J. Spiller said he's "very close" to where he wants to be physically.
In the eyes of the Bills, Spiller is 100 percent, as he was removed from this week's injury report. Spiller said he's not all the way back, but as close as he's been since first hurting his ankle. "Just little twinges here and there," Spiller said. "The good thing is that it calms down a whole lot quicker than what it had done in the past. That's the encouraging part." As healthy as he's been since Week 2 and ticketed for a bigger workload, Spiller is back on the RB2 map.
