Excitement continues tonight in MLB as the National League Playoff Series begin with Los Angeles at Atlanta and Pittsburgh at St. Louis. Can Atlanta somehow find success with Jason Heyward in the lead off spot against Clayton Kershaw or does Kershaw and company come in and post a shut out or one run game? How big will Dan Uggla's absence from Atlanta's post season roster be in the leadership department? How much will Los Angeles miss Matt Kemp's bat in the post season? Can Pittsburgh keep up the momentum from the huge home win from the other night but now in an opponent ball park? Can we expect to see a stellar St. Louis post season as we have been accustomed to seeing? What thoughts and questions do you have about tonight's games?

My biggest concern for my dodgers is not the fact that Kemp is out but the real question that rises is if our veteran bench of skip, Hairston, punto and young be a factor and contribute. Biggest stage starts tonight and if we can get production in key spots throughout the playoffs then we would be in best of positions to win. Either being shelved this series as a pinch hitter doesn't help as we lose a left handed batter deep in the lineup. Who knows he can be the modern day Gibson. Lol. I also believe early run support for Kershaw and Greinke is imperative so they can relax and pitch with confidence not only relying on the strikeout.

I'm pretty excited as a Dodgers fan but there is always something about playoff baseball and those sensative mics in both dugouts that make every game, every pitch just suspenseful!

Go Doyers!

Great insight Adub034. Medlen's major task tonight will be to keep pace with Kershaw and must have a good start as Medlen seems in some outings to need an inning or two to get dialed in. I think the manager mathcups are key also with Gonzalez and Mattingly. Gonzalez has made some aggresive calls heading down the stretch in the regular season and will have to fight the temptation to not lose his nerve now in the post season. Conversely how aggresive will Mattingly be on the road to start the Playoff Series? I think most Atlanta fans want Evan Gattis in the lineup either in Left Field or behind the plate and his bat may some up with a key hit somewhere in the mix.
