Well it's the best time of year in major league baseball. The tension and drama is always exciting. Let's see if we can make some money.

4* LA/At no run 1st inning - 150 (Atlanta hasn't had a run scored in the first inning in their last 7 gms and only 2 of last 10. Cards haven't in 7 of 10) so I'm going with the good starting pitching and no runs.
3* St L -146 listed pitchers. Each team has won when at home when these two have pitched. St Lou is 2-1 with their Ace on the mound against Atl this year. Meanwhile Atl lost both road games when Burny pitched in St L.

You guys knew what I meant. Obviously I was talking about Pitt. I just had my 55th birthday and my age is showing with shit like that. Good news is I went 2-0 to start the playoffs. Now I just need my Wild to come through as they are 10-0-1 in home openers and I need them HUGE.

After the 2-0 start, I went out and had a 1lb roast beef sandwich and a few beers for lunch and didn't post my no run first inning winner in the Boston game. Oh well! Three plays for tonight:

4* LAD -116, Greinke, the team is 22-6 with him on the mound, he's won 8 of his last 10, 16 of his last 20. I can't go against him. For those of you who like fewer plays. I would only play this game of my three selections.
3* LAD over 6.5, Greinke's era is a full run higher at 3.21 on the road, Minor's home era is 5.00. I think this is a shootout.
2* YES +120 a run in the first inning. In the last 10 games with Greinke on the mound one team has scored a run in 6 of them. Meanwhile, Minor's last 10 have been yes to a first inning run in 8 of 10. I think it's going to be a high scoring game with fireworks right off the bat.

Another winner with the 2* coming in as a +120 dog with LA scoring in the top of the first. Let's cash the next two.

2-1 yesterday, picking up .76 units. Now 4-1, +7.76 units. When I first looked at today's games and the trends of the playoffs so far, I thought both teams that lost yesterday would even the series like the others. But in looking at Lackey's performance at home this year and Boston's great home field advantage, coupled with TB's horrendous travel and pressure in the last week. I think Boston beats the fantastic Price who has only given up 2 earned runs in each of his last five starts. Result, 3* Boston -110.

In the late game, Detroit is 1-9 in Verlander's last 10 starts. He has pitched okay, especially lately giving up NO runs in his last 12 innings over two starts. Oakland has a great record at home and Gray has been outstanding at home with a 3-1 record and a 1.99 era. Can the rookie keep his composure against the veteran and dominant Detroit lineup. I'm saying yes.

3* Oakland even money.

I also like a 4* Oak over 7 +105.

I also like the over in Oakland game but I can't bet Oakland for the game. It's Detroit or no play for me. Good luck tonight

WineO, I understand you're hesitancy about playing Oakland because Detroit is a solid, solid club. But Oakland is too good and I think they bounce back to even the series. The over can be scary because of the size of the park, Verlander can be dominant, Gray has been outstanding, but I think it's like the NHL playoffs with the flip flop method and Verlander isn't what he was and the rookie could get shaken due to the pressure.

One win in the books, let's get a couple more!!!

Gray pitched an awesome game. When you look at the success Oakland has had finding and developing young pitching over the years, it's just amazing. Hope the A's pull this one out for you.

Well another 2-1 last night, gaining 2 more units. Now 6-2, +9.76 units. On to today's games. My gut tells me St L and LAD but after looking things over and seeing the low LAD -140 line, it tells me Vegas knows something we don't. I thought they would be 170. Here are my handicapping notes.

St L/Pitt - St Lou is 11-3 with Kelly on the mound, he's 5-1 on the rd with a 2.07 era. He's won twice at Pt and once at home going 3-0 against the Bucks. He did pitch in relief last year in 7 playoff gms resulting in a 2.35 era so he has the post season experience. Meanwhile, everyone knows how dominant Liriano has been at home going 10-2 with a 1.45era. He faced St L twice winning on the road going 9 innings, 4 hits and 1 run. He also won at home going 8 innings, no runs on 2 hits. He has no post season experience. I watched him in Minny when he was a rookie and this dominant and I felt no one could beat him. Is he in that same type of zone? My gut tells me St Louis wins and it should be low scoring but I can't play this one.

At/LAD - Teheran is 9-5 on the road and the team is 20-10 when he pitches. He has given up his fair share of runs but in his last three games he's gone 17 innings with a 4.58 era. The team is 3-7 to the under his last 10. Ryu and LA have gone 19-11 when he pitches. LA is 2-5 his last 7 starts but not to his doing. The Dodgers have scored 1 run in three of those losses and 2 in the other two. He has given up 20 earned runs in his last 10 starts. He's 7-4 at hm with a 2.32 era. His last three he's pitched 19 innings with a 2.37 era. Both teams had their aces going in the first two games and they scored 7 runs in both of those games. Now we get the third teir pitchers and the total still sits at 6.5. I think LA wins and may play it but I am going with 3* over 6.5

Another easy winner last night. Now 7-2 +12.76 units. Nice thing is I played the Dodgers also so a great night for me combined with my Lynx easy 7* winner in the WNBA. I'll have more later, but wanted to post this play on the early game right away.

5* Det -150 listed pitchers. Detroit has been solid with Sanchez going 10-4 at home with him on the mound. Conversely, Oakland is 6-8 with Parker and his era in day games is an unimpressive 4.32. His era in the last three is 9.20. Detroit pounds the ball today.
3* Det over 7 - I think the bats finally come alive now that they've left the spacious Oakland park.

More to come.

Here are the rest of my plays for today.

4* Pt NO runs first inning -150. While I thought there would be a run in the first inning yesterday and there were. I think this one doesn't as Wacha has been impressive and Morton as well in their recent outings.
4* LAD over 7.5 -105 these two guys have eras that are out of this universe and they are the last tier starters. I see more of the same like yesterday.

Palehose, I got Pit over 7 -130 at my sight, none the less a winner. Also won no run 1st inning in the St Louis game, now we need a Tiger comeback.
