Lost on all three of probably the most high profile/ridiculous covers of my gambling career.. Anyone else have this trifecta?

had the bills in music city miracle, uconn in national championship game when duhon casually threw in a half courter at buzzer, and of course northwestern Saturday..

I was on the Duhon shot, was at the game (national semi-finals BTW)

we were all jumping around and my buddy looks at me and asks "what's wrong", then it hit him

to be honest, we were still happy to have made a tremendous comeback and we partied until the bars closed. But we knew we won before the final buzzer, so that shot was still a kick in the nuts

on the flight down we were joking about betting Duke just in case to win the consolation prize, little did we know we could have won both the game and the bet

I've had a bunch of bad beats, including 3 pick sixes to beat me in the final seconds a few years ago
1 by Farve when he played for the Vikings
1 thrown by Seattle (that one really hurt)
can't remember the third

might have been the same year I blew a 27.5 point 4th qtr lead in a college game

I lost a Duke/Clemson bball games in the 90's because someone in the stands threw coins on the court and gave the home team a Technical foul!!!

NW was brutal. Not the worst I've seen, but bad.

Kordell Stewart against Michigan was a good one. I was in vegas watching that one and actually won on that play, but I saw more than a few suicidal looks that day!

I've lost too many Basketball games by 1/2 a point to add up.

its not fun to recall these but sort of part of your gambling scars to brag about these sad losses..these are historic and I found the worng side of them both.

I lost both of these. and so close to each other about 1 year apart..

August 21,1990 Dodger Stadium Phillies at Dodgers.
The Dodgers had an 11-3 lead going to the top of the 9th inning, amazingly the Phillies scored 9 runs (key blast a 3 run homer John Kruk (now an ESPN Baseball Analyst) to take a 12-11 lead. and win game.

Jacobs Field August 5th 2001. The mariners were up 14-2 after 6 . 14 to phucking 2...
guess what happened. yup 15-14 cleveland win..

what about bettors who had seattle when the refs gave testaverde (when he was a jet) that phantom td even though replay clearly showed the football was no where near the goalline

I was on NW big and I have had worse. One comes to mind but I don't remember the exact details cause it was 10 years ago or so.

I was on the under in an NBA game I think it was PHX and someone. It was way way way under end of the 4th quarter, PHX had the ball down 3 with 1 second left, inbound, and I wanna say Stoudemire (of all people) made a half court heave to tie it and send it to OT.

Still staying well under in OT and PHX gets the ball down 3 again with 1 second left inbound and hit a 3/4 court shot to send it to double OT.

Then it goes over by one point in double OT.

Does anyone remember the pitt/sdiego game a few years ago? Where Pitt scored a td on final play and they took it away?

That game has always bothered me....i didnt have a side bet in the game but im still thinking something was shady about that game.

I don't remember that but I remember 6 or so years ago I had team X (can't remember who) +3.5 playing the KC chiefs. Chiefs down 3 end of game in the red zone, like 2 seconds left. They go for it for some crazy reason, and score a TD with time expired. Score is correctly displayed as final, Chiefs win by 3.

Then like 5 minutes later after everyone was already down the tunnel and the postgame interviews were over, they trotted 22 people back out and let KC kick the meaningless extra point.

Shadiest thing I've ever seen.

I remember my buddy who had NEVER bet football wanted to bet cause he saw I was having a really good season. I was using a local and I got him all set up with a small credit account. He was going to bet this one game and that's it. I told him team X was my favorite bet of the week and he bet his full credit limit on it.

He called me right afterwards thanking me for the win.

I had to call him 10 minutes later and explain that we lost.

He has never bet on sports again.

there was another game involving florida/Kentucky a few years back that I believe was also shady involving the xtra point at end of game and it directly impacted point spread

actually, Testaverde dove (or was tackled) head first and his helmet never even reached the goal line, the ball was around his waist

one of the worst calls ever

Little did he know that game would save him so much money in his lifetime.
