Guy is terrific for any clubs minor league system, but as a manager he makes decisions as if he were playing APBA or STRAT-O-MATIC, which will never work in the real world, ESPECIALLY when it comes to playoff baseball.

Seriously!!! The Rays compete every year with no payroll, a horrible stadium and no fans. They are in the same division with two of the wealthier teams in baseball. Madden might make some mistakes but if he were fired tomorrow he would get calls from about 20 teams asking him to manage their team.

+1

Their fan base is truly non existent, only time there are sellouts are playoffs or if Yankees, Sox or some big time NL team comes in. I agree their payroll is pretty low considering the payoff they get from the players.

Who would be a big time star off their team in NY, Boston or LA and when I say big time star, I mean becoming the face of the team immediately upon joining the club.

There is about 30 mgrs. who wouldn't have taken out Hellickson until it was 4-0.
Peavy was pitching lights out and was behind 1-0 because of Maddens handling of his pitching staff. The game was lost over 1 wild pitch. And loses 3-1. Last I knew Madden is not allowed to hit.

I actually agree with Fishhead, Madden over-managed and got out-managed by Farrell. Madden is good for a 162 game season, not so sure hes all that good for short series.

He's horrible, always has been...........Rays wasting their time with him like NFL teams waste time with the Vicks and Newton's of the world at QB.

$57 million dollar payroll. Name me 3 managers that are better and consistently over achieve like TB does.

I have to say that Madden gets more out of less then any manager I have ever seen...... the idea that he would get fired is just ludicrous...... I can only assume that someone is very upset about losing a bet and not thinking clearly right now as there is not one baseball expert in the world who would agree with the idea that Madden should be fired.
