Disagree, with a qualification.

I think he has reached a point in his broadcasting where he is being totally honest, relaxed, and excellent.

But, it is only because he is retiring this year.

i liked jack buck, vin scully, joe garagiola, mel allen. those guys made the game fun to listen to. now, i watch all these games with the sound off and my i-pod rolling...

the problem with color guys is this

1) they have to try and talk to the entire audience which usually results in watered down commentary at best.
2) the real X's and O's guys that I enjoy, that many of you probably enjoy, bore the shit out of the casual viewer.

so they have to go with the fluff and buff guys

I like him too, he knows a lot about pitching.. Great ballplayer as well. Debuted at 17 and played 21 years.
