Living in the Philadelphia area they constantly refer to Bovada as the Vegas Line. What ever obscure props Bovada offer they talk like you can go into a Las Vegas Sportsbook and bet it. The host of the sportstalk show will banter between the producer or sidekick and himself saying something to effect that if I was in Las Vegas I would make this particular bet. It annoys me to no end that they make these false statements. Many listeners think that Vegas Books will take these bets. They will quote a line on a coach being fired or some other ridiculous prop that you couldn't wager in Las Vegas this century or the next. Bovada isn't a sponsor on any of these shows. They never mention the Bovada website. They just talk about Bovada as being an actual sportsbook in Las Vegas. Just unbelievable crap that no one ever calls them on.

Maybe just your town? Places around here all know Bovada is an online book and some of them bet online

I think its more of a non-sports station kind of thing where they might mention it how your saying

There are commercial advertisements about bovada, but I don't hear the announcers discussing that book in general...

What i hate is when they have their pick-em shows and then use the line from the newspaper!!! I kinow their sitting there with laptops, desktops, smart phnoes, etc and the best line they can get is the 1 from the paper?

I called in a bet to a local 1 time and he said like 8...i says the paper has 6.5.. He says u need to call 388-5000 to make ur bet. Whos that i ask... .The goddamn newspaper he says.:think2:

one show here does not hide the fact that they bet offshore and specifically point out what the line at Bovada is
Bovada is the only out they have

The stations I am referring to are all sports stations in Philadelphia. WIP 94.1 and The Fanatic 97.5. On a side note a couple of weeks ago Chris "Maddog" Russo was on the Stern Show on Sirius and Howard was asking Chris where he makes his bets and Chris sheepishly answered several places including offshore. Maddog makes substantial bets somewhere between 5 to 10 dimes a game or prop. He can afford it as he was making 3 million a year on his last contract. I think it's the "Dog's" best interest to not discuss his wagering habits as he just got hired by MLB to do a daily show on the MLB Network next season. The last thing MLB needs is a guy betting on baseball games who is employed by them.
