people with heavy Indian accents calling homes and saying they're the IRS. They want you to settle old IRS debts or issues right away otherwise they're sending the sheriff to your house by 3 pm.

I called them on behalf of a client, and told them the IRS does not conduct business in this fashion and that I know they're frauds. I then goggled their number and found hundreds of posts about similar calls made to other people. Always the same MO, always heavy Indian accents

https://www.google.com/#q=951-223-6693

I called them again and asked the person if they were proud to be lying scumbag frauds. They started playing music. I tried calling a few times since then just to bust their ass but they must have my number blocked as I go right into what appears to be an answering machine sans any announcement.

anyhow, please call them one time and call them frauds or thieves or scum or just waste some of their time

I hate these type of people, the scum of the earth

The worst part about it.. is the fbi doesnt give a shit.. the nigerian scams (they will call too) and now the indians.. they have a scam now where they call up seniors and tell them they r a grandchild.. (many forget how many they have) then they pump them for information. And ask for 500 bucks ro fix thwir car...
anyway.. they could easily stop it if they wanted to...
Cheers

I heard about that one too. Elderly couple said someone called saying they were their youngest grandchild and had been arrested in Mexico and needed $1000 to get out. While the old lady was on the phone panicked, the old man called their daughter to confirm no one was in Mexico. Scum.

Thats a Southern California area code....weird

shouldnt be weird, is really easy to get an area code from wherever you want it to be, is the same as the sweepstake scam on seniors and the other one when they call seniors who have been scammed with sweepstakes saying they are from the federeal trade commission or some BS like that and that they need $$$ to pay for legal fees to "catch the bad guys"...still can't beleive they would fall for this, especially when they want the money to be sent overseas, but sadly they do

so ya know Willie is a CPA and I'm sure deals with the IRS often, and is very familiar with how they conduct business.

I called. They answered with "IRS how can I help you?". I told them I was so and so, a field agent with the internal revenue service and I wanted to ask a few questions.... they hung up on me. Now when I call they just pick up the phone and hang right up.
