By best I mean cheapest. In your experience, what do you think? Any websites that I may not know about? I already know what I am looking for and all the specs. Obvious places are Wal-Mart, Target etc. etc.

FRYs electronics runs specials every week. they also match any internet deal you show them. I bought my last Tv there after showing them that amazon was selling it $80 cheaper. Instead of waiting for amazon delivery. I bought it -- -internet matched price --- at Fry's and tookit home same night. Latest Samsung 40" LED Smart TV.

also... here are 2 sites where people just look for and post the best TV deals from all over the net and regular stores...

Thanks for the help man. From what I have found so far, Wal-Mart has the best prices by far on the Samsung TVs. They have a lot better selection on their website as well. I am going to check these out.

Couple of quick questions for those of you that probably know more than I. Looking at buying a 60 to 65 inch. I have read that there really isn't a big difference in the 120Hz and 240Hz. Can anyone confirm this? Also, LCD vs. LED. Any input? Seems to me they are both basically the same thing with LED weighing less?

a good tip when buying a tv (or other major purchase) is use american express, they automatically extend most warranties from 1 year to 3 (depends on which version of amex you have though).

a lot of visa and mastercards do this too, check the terms of the card, and use the one that extends!

otherwise it's always a terrible deal to buy extended warranties, if a product is good for a week it's usually good for 4 years.

also led MUCH better than standard lcd, thinner with a brighter, clearer picture. the larger the screen, the more important clarity and speed become, so if you're going that big the difference will be more noticeable, same with 120hz vs 240.

Bought a new tv yesterday, pretty good deal I thought. Using my red card at target (5% off) got a 55 inch Vizio led 1080/120 for $665. Not the best tv out there, but wanted a bigger one and this did the trick.

amazon and newegg, not only get it delivered but they set it up as well. and at a lower price, its why circuit city is out of business and best buy is hurting.

Agree 100% (especially Amazon). Any issues they will take it back no questions asked and replace it. I bought a 65" plasma from them about 2 years ago. Saved a boat load of money (prices change quite often) and the pictures is fantastic.

Also bought a 47" LED for the upstairs, same story from Amazon and got the best price with zero issues.

Simple...

newegg.com

Been using for 10 plus years now. Lost count of how much I have saved, and not one complaint yet.

As far as TVs, it will always be LG and Samsung for me.

Yes definitely best deals online. Go browse at Best Buy, find which model you like. Ask a few questions and then go home and order online :103631605

a few months back i was asking about the tv subject and i ended up with a LG LED 3D SMART TV for a good price and i love the LG.its the next step after samsung and its okay with me.......only problem is,you need a soundbar for your tv as i thought i didn't need one at first but when football started i found out that the background noise from the crowd drowned out the announcers commentary of the game as you really can't hear them good at all so after i got the soundbar its great sounding, you can tell the difference right away,....but last to say, everybody here really helped me a ton on getting a new tv and like i said before, thanks to all of you for the help,i really appreciated it

best place to buy is Costco (or Sam's Club). Costco has a ton of different models and offers a 90 day refund, so if you're unsure about the size or model you're getting, you can always just return it later if it doesn't work out. they'll even pick up your return if it's a large screen. Sam's Club refund period might even be longer than Costco's.. i know it use to be, but not sure currently.

they also double the warranty to 2 years (or 3 years if you buy on AMEX).

LED is LCD, they're the same thing. LED is not a different technology than LCD. The old style of LCD sets used a CCFL as the backlight source, but now most LCD sets use LED's as the backlight source. However, regardless of the type of backlight, they're both Liquid Crystal Display panels. Nothing has changed or will ever change with respect to LCD sets. It's just a marketing gimmick.

there's only 3 different display technologies: Plasma, LCD, and OLED.

Plasma gives the truest cinematic picture, has the darkest blacks, and handles motion the best. All videophiles own Plasmas and always will.

If there's any perceived advantages of LCD, it's that it weighs less than Plasma and can produce a super bright display, but it delivers a far inferior, unnatural, and inaccurate (oversaturated) picture.

Hmmmm. Plasmas are much cheaper than the LCD/LED TVs too. Is there a big difference in the 120Hz vs. the 240 Hz? Everything I have read is don't waste a couple hundred bucks extra on the 240Hz. They eye can't tell the difference unless it is in 3D?
