why do posters stop posting?

1) they go broke gambling and just decide to quit

2) they have a gambling addiction and they feel that is they post on the r/x, they will gamble so they stop posting

3) they find themselves spending too much time on the site and not enough time with their family

4) they pull out all the stops to beat trytrytry in a college football postup contest and lose...get called out...then disappear

5) they die

I think you left off 3 of the biggest reasons.

Have a falling out with a mod or high level person on the site.

Does not like the general direction a forum is heading.

Does not like the way a forum handles a controversy with a forum sponsor.

Forum has been getting boring...nothing worth reading or posting that hasn't been said 100 times before. Occasionally a big event will spawn some interesting discussion but that happens maybe twice a year.

More posters I would say...I dunno though. I used to be able to browse this site for 30 minutes or an hour each day easily. Now I check it maybe once or twice and spend no more than 5-10 minutes on anything. I don't gamble like I used to though...so maybe that's it...I have noticed a lot of the posters from years past seem to have been run off by the JC types.

they realize they have a gambling problem, exacerbated by the r/x

r/x competes with family time
