Remember the time when small books were around. Any of you guys that work on this industry can give feedback on this topic, my first job on the sportsbook industry was actually a very small book, it was the best time. That was back when the pats spreads were -17.5 or -21 and they won every single week.

Been doing this for 13 years now down here. Started out in a shop with 3 clerks and one lines guy we wrote hand tickets and had to stay late and grade everything by hand no computers just some phones and actual tape recorders with little tapes in them. Kind of miss those days. Halftimes were great I would write the lines on the big white board lines guy yelling move it to this number. Constantly erasing them and changing the line. Totally different and exciting time. Now the little shops are getting swallowed up by the bigger shops who can afford high tech infrastructure to prevent from Ddos attacks etc. Remember going to work on a sunday morning in my pajamas back then. Wore shorts, tshirts and flip flops for years. Times have a changed.

I wasnt there that early but I got to experience the cargo shorts and flip flops. Taking 2 hour lunch breaks. Jetting early to hit la playa. Wasnt making bank but for a young 20's kids. Life was good. Wish I would of been more mature about the money and saved but with all the vices...well, it wasnt an option.

There are still a few small books around. Love the Asian clientele, no phone calls and they pay.

I guess if you would have had a computer in your tee-pee back then you would have known that.
