I have been a small time recreational loser gambler with them for 10 years, and I would have been a loyal customer for 30 more, most likely. But now I am done with them and I warn others about their horrible customer service. I have never bet form than $5 on a horse race in my life. Yesterday for the Breeders Cup - I tried to bet a $3 trifecta box and accidentally bet $300. I immediately called customer service with 10 min before the race went off, the service agent listened - passed on on to the manager and the manager would not allow the bet to be cancelled before the race went off. I have made this request maybe 2-3 times over the last 10 years of betting with them and they always cancelled the piddly $25 bet. Now that it was a .0000001% long shot error bet - they would not allow the bet to be canceled. This is such short sighted business - they have had me donating $ to them for 10 years and now spite a loyal customer that will never use this 5dimes again? They want bad PR - plenty of books to chose from. Truly crazy horrible short sighted customer service.

Yes - my units are $20. Play for pure fun - I know I will lose my allotted $500 or so a year to gamble. They get it every year - why not cancel an obvious erroneous bet before the race went off?

If he contacted them before the race they could have voided it for him. I love using 5dimes but they could have done this for him.

Surprised that a $5 bettor had the $1800 in his account to make this bet.

How many wagers do you average per day or week at 5dimes?

3-10 plays a day. probably less than 50 a month. Most bets are flat bets as $20-25 per bet. Never bet more than $5 on a horse race in my life. This is just for action/fun for me and 5dimes knows it. They will get the $ eventually - every year for 10 years, so why take my "play" money on an honest mistake that they were notified of before the race went off?

I had exactly $563 in my account when I accidentally bet $300 instead of $3 in a boxed trifecta Breeders cup bet for "action"/fun.

Heritage would've canceled.

And in the 10 years I have been using 5dimes - I have called with an accidental bet maybe 2-3 times and they ALWAYS canceled it - $25 bet. They knew that the $300 accidental bet was a .000000001% chance to payout so they refused to cancel. They knew it was an accident - the customer rep was with me, felt horrible, but said nothing he could do because the manager would not approve the cancel request before the race went off.

Sorry this happened to you. I've been playing there for years and never had a problem with them as far as them paying, but imo their customer service has gotten
terrible of the past couple of years. I don't know what's up with that. In my experience though, I've done this about 3-4 times (tried to cancel bets) and called right after I did so and no book has ever let me cancel.

thats sick dude... They should of cancelled the damn wager but you better be glad you didn't hit the trifecta because as soon as you did and there was a 100 grand in your account they would of emailed you saying that your request had been approved and your wager has been cancelled.... You can count on that

No doubt it should have been cancelled, but just wondering how you made this mistake? First you would have to add 2 extra 0's to the wager, then not catch it when confirming your password.

you should've asked to speak with tony directly. he would've cancelled it after looking at your history.
