I sit Tom Brady on the one fantasy football team I own him, and then you:

pound the Patriots
Brady > TD number
Brady > yardage number
Brady > completions number

easy money

Hey Willie, heard any rumblings on who UConn might hire?

not a peep officially, while boneyard members' speculation is all over the boards, from a few current head coaches at smaller schools to a few current coordinators at larger schools.

I was hoping the current interim coach would win it, but that's not happening either

one thing everybody agrees on, we want someone young and enthusiastic that will bring some fire to the sidelines

Thanks for the insight. Main reason I asked is because there are rumors down here that UConn has at least expressed interest in Dan Mullen at Mississippi State. Fwiw, I think that would be a pretty lousy hire and most MSU fans would probably be grateful to UConn for taking him off their hands and getting out of his contract. Who knows if the rumor has any legs but just throwing that rumor out there.

Hiring a a coach is always an exciting time for a program. Gives a struggling fan base the one thing they desire most: hope.

I think they're waiting for the season to end. It's not like we're the type of football program that could steal a good coach mid-season. I also think they wanted to give the interim coach a chance, but that hasn't worked out just yet. Our AD was a former lineman at MI, he wants a football guy and he has stated he wants an offensive line that attacks. The recently fired PP believed in "zone blocking", and I think our kids were all about zone and nothing about blocking.

I've heard the names of a few coordinators from the SEC mentioned, but no head coaches.

Chop, I'm not an MSU fan. Quite the opposite actually. Love the Ole Miss Rebels. But most of my friends are MSU fans and have a few family members as well. And you're right. They ALL wants Hudspeth. As an Ole Miss fan, I'm actually hoping Mullen beats Arkansas and pulls off an upset somewhere so they get to a bowl game and have to keep Mullen. Mullen isNt dangerous. I think Hudspeth would be an obvious upgrade for them, hence I hope someone else hires him away before Mullen is fired. Hiope you're right that they can't get him but what makes you think that? He was a coordinator for them a Few years ago. Grew up in mississippi and is well respected by most of the high school coaches (recruiting). I think Hudspeth would take the job if Mullen was fired this year.

It might be wishful thinking but Huds wife absolutely loves it over here.
Hud makes over 1 mill a year over here which is not that much less then he would get at MSU considering that we are willing to go up to 1.7 or so if we had to.

I have some friends real close to HUD and HUD has repeatedly told them that MSU is not as much of a dream job to him as some people think.
HUD knows that there are all kinds of internal problems at MSU that he does not think he could correct.
He considers MSU to be the worst job in the SEC when it comes to an administration.

He would much rather go to Ole Miss then MSU despite his history with MSU.

I think Hud is holding about for a Florida, Georgia type gig.

I think the team he has coming back next season is going to be special.

They will be going 10-2 this year, and I think 12-0 and a Boise St type team from 2 or 3 years ago type season is in the making over here at UL.

And I think he realizes that if he holds out he can get an even better job then MSU.

I dont think his wife would accept him going to MSU.
