Speaking Tuesday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he was "relieved" by Aaron Rodgers' broken collarbone diagnosis, and that "everybody felt better about it" after getting "new information" on Tuesday.
McCarthy said the team is in a "week-to-week mindset" with its starting quarterback. McCarthy refused to even rule out Rodgers for Week 10, but strongly suggested Seneca Wallace will start against the Eagles. Broken collarbones can often to be 4-6 week injuries, but reading between the lines, it doesn't sound like Rodgers suffered a full break. It certainly helps matters that the injury is to his non-throwing shoulder. There's still a frustrating vagueness to the whole affair, but it sounds like there's a real chance Rodgers is back under center before the month is through.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday he still doesn't have a timetable for Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) to return.
McCarthy only said Rodgers is still "a couple of weeks away" from being able to practice or play. The Packers are likely hoping for a Thanksgiving (Week 13) return, though that is probably a best-case scenario. Fantasy owners with playoff designs should continue to keep Rodgers rostered as an injured QB2.

Speaking Monday, coach Mike McCarthy named Scott Tolzien the Packers' Week 12 starter at quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) hinted last Tuesday that he was hoping to return for Week 12, but McCarthy was vague on his progress. "I don't make medical decisions," McCarthy said. "We know (Rodgers) wants to return as soon as he can." Although it wouldn't be stunning were Rodgers to return against the Vikings, it's a long-shot. Rodgers was given a 4-6 week timetable upon going down, and Week 12 would be the third game he's missed. Thanksgiving remains Rodgers' most likely return date, though even that is far from certain. His status should be updated later this week.

Aaron Rodgers (broken left collarbone) can run and throw without issue, but would be at risk of further injury if he suited up for Week 12.
"I think the biggest issue is not the pain at this point," Rodgers said Tuesday. "It is the risk of taking a shot like that and what it would do if (the collarbone) displaced. Obviously, I'd be out for the season and worried about any type of complications going forward." Rodgers refused to officially rule himself out for Sunday's game, but referenced Dumb and Dumber ("so you're saying there's a chance") when talking about his odds of suiting up. Rodgers won't be active against the Vikings, and is 50-50, at best, for Green Bay's Thanksgiving showdown with the Lions.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has been eyeing a Week 14 return all along, but "he'd be lucky" to play next Sunday.
The 5-6-1 Packers' season is just about over. They have little hope for the playoffs, and Rapoport adds that the team is considering shutting Rodgers down for the rest of the year, especially since their postseason hopes are slim. The combination of Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien has "led" the Packers to three consecutive losses, while Flynn looked completely incapable of running an NFL offense Thursday against the Lions. If Rodgers can't return, it will be a huge blow to Jordy Nelson, Eddie Lacy, and the rest of Green Bay's skill position players' fantasy stocks. Rodgers is throwing without pain, but there's still a real possibility the bone isn't healed and could be dislodged, creating a career-threatening injury. We'll know more this upcoming practice week.

Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has yet to be medically cleared, and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Rodgers will work out on Tuesday. According to coach Mike McCarthy, Rodgers is "progressing," and felt better on Friday than he did on Wednesday. Rodgers got in his first padded practice last Thursday. Per McCarthy, the "biggest thing (for Rodgers) is strength and comfort." Sunday's win over the Falcons has ramped up speculation that Rodgers will finally return for Week 15, but the Pack appear intent on avoiding a rash decision. For now, McCarthy is "planning" for Matt Flynn to start, but it's obviously a plan that could change. What Rodgers is able to do on Wednesday will be critical to his status.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) remains at "extraordinary risk" of further injury should he play in a football game.
Per Mort, there was "no real" organizational decision regarding ruling Rodgers out for Week 16, as coach Mike McCarthy claimed, because Rodgers is simply not healthy enough to play football at this point in time. ESPN's Bob Holtzman added on SportsCenter that Rodgers received "far fewer" practice reps this week than last week, and his Packers teammates knew Rodgers wouldn't face the Steelers early in the week. It sheds doubt on whether Rodgers has a chance to play in Week 17 should Green Bay defeat Pittsburgh, and perhaps even makes Rodgers' would-be playoffs availability murky. Matt Flynn remains the Packers' starting quarterback indefinitely.
